I bought it when it was released, I think the first under his name for ECM (perhaps even the only one). I had already heard Hussain on many records, but this was a special encounter for me and even today, from time to time, it makes a rotation on the turntable. Well done Jacke, excellent dig and the closing is perfect.

I had liked the previous two albums, and this one surprised me with its further "step forward." I listened to it a lot when it was released, but I didn't think you would like it so much, Super... I also agree with your judgment on "Waiting in Vain" by James Jackson Toth (which perhaps convinced me even more than in his Wooden Wand guise) and you should dedicate a SuperSoulDePagina to him. There is a second edition, and as I mentioned, I just ordered it from the bookstore where they didn't mention any availability issues...

The L.O.L.O. discs are about ten years older than Brooklyn (I don't like that either) and very different. Do you know which of his records you might like? Dinosaur L, from the early '80s.. - To return, as is necessary, to the subject of the review: this book by Carnevali is available, published by Adelphi, my bookstore has confirmed it to me. It also seems that the "Racconti di un uomo che ha fretta" published by Fazi ed. are very beautiful.

Super, Peter Gordon is really a special guy. I don't know if you're familiar with his work, like those with the Love of Life Orchestra: well, his music reflects him a lot. Gentle, shy but optimistic, lively yet reserved... I met him at a friend's house, a Fourth of July party with Americans in Italy, about a dozen years ago (there was also a nice group of models, all super tall, gorgeous, very blonde). A couple of his records were released by a friend of mine. Here's another one I lost track of and need to "rediscover." Thanks for the "reminder"!

Hi, Super. I remember them because I heard them live, crammed 7 or 8 on a tiny stage, and I was impressed by the quality of their work, despite the impossible conditions. Who knows what happened to them...

A Neapolitan band in the '80s dedicated an album to Carnevali. They were the Panoramics, and the album is called "Bugie Colorate." If you manage to find it, give it a listen; it’s a nice album. - I appreciated the page, a bit less the final part (with considerations regarding directors, professors, and "we Italians") which I find a little rhetorical. Thank you anyway for the suggestion: a long time ago I promised myself I would read it and then... I will return to its tracks.
