Having read the review, I rushed to buy it and I've already listened to it 24 times!! Incredible (considering I read the review 2 hours ago) but true. I even owned it (you never know with the plague...) and it was too devastating. Thank you so much, Pof81!
Toru Takemitsu Spirit Garden / Orchestral Works

Well done again, GiovanniA. For me, Mr. Toru has been a rather recent discovery (a couple of years) and it's truly a constant "surprise" the refined richness of nuances that distinguishes all his works. Among other things, fortunately, many are available online, to start to "taste." I also agree with your closing: it's a lovely journey into it.

Imagining myself "...in TriBeCa, at the opening of a photography exhibition dedicated to Weegee..." I can choose something else (Four Roses no thanks)? For the rest, the snapshot is spot on. And they, back then, were even great live: they didn't hold back even in front of an audience of 4 cats in small provincial venues. (I had the cassette -NevadaGaz favorite piece- but I no longer have it) - Greetings from the Jurassic :))

Well done, Orsi deserved a mention. For those who think they can't find the album, I recommend a jump to this blog: link rotto In addition to this, you'll find many other interesting and not easily obtainable works - Orsi is working on a "tribute" project to Alan Lomax, who is a true pioneer in "field" recordings of musical traditions (read the excellent review of Muito here on DeBaser: Alan Lomax e il tesoro musicale italiano folk

I see you’re sticking to the intention (which I had “encouraged”) of steering the trajectory of your pages in the direction of your nickname, which started off very bright... And once again you’ve struck gold, perhaps my favorite album from this unique voice. I was listening to a best of from '74 the other day, pure bliss. - To be honest, picking up on your point about the relative visibility of ours, there has recently been quite a bit of publicity for the tribute album dedicated to him by the lead singer of Simply Red, his longtime devotee. It seems the result was well-received even by the old lion, who declared: “Your phrasing is good. Not as good as mine, but you did a damn good job.” Perhaps some fans of Mick Hucknall will join the small group of your “25 readers” in searching for our old records.
