Vic Godard & The Subway Sect A retrospective (1977-81)

:)) Damn (sorry for the Frenchism), even the papal ring! Stay strong and upright, young friend, it's just a matter of age, so now of old age, and geographical coincidences (Turin is so small). I, however, unlike Alberto, was in London for more ephemeral and trivial matters (blonde and Anglo-Neapolitan issues) rather than for the music. But, as you know, one thing leads to another...

Packed with references and connections, encyclopedic and fluid, a invigorating resurrection. The aspect of Vic that I remember best, among those described, is the "pop refinement not lacking in almost-glam nuances," even though I seem to no longer have any vinyl relics of his work. To return to comments posted elsewhere, I believe I recall Campo liking Godard as well. You also mentioned the 100 Club on Oxford Street, and it reminded me that I had been there, albeit a bit late in its golden age, in 1981 or thereabouts, and that evening there was a band that included members of Rip Rig + Panic. And I had even forgotten about it... further proof of the now advanced debacle of my neurovegetative system and the wide gaps in my sieve-like memory. Will you forgive me?

Here, do as you please, but then make sure it returns home when possible, this book, even though I don't think KosmicGirl will manage to read it before the Canadians in Turin. Jokes aside, there's no rush, so the shoes can continue their stroll..

Oh, goodness, when did I miss the call? Are distraction and the deterioration of neurovegetative functions plausible excuses? Now I investigate and read what I missed. As a partial compensation, I confess that yes, sometimes I paid the entrance fee to Night for Heroes... :))

The other thing that can be said is that, paradoxically, it is easier to listen to that album today. Both because it has been released on CD and because the cornucopia of the internet is inexhaustible: Causas Perdidas: The Passage - Pindrop (1980)

Well, what can I say? I’d say I had that ā€œPindropā€ recorded on cassette by Alberto himself, because the few copies that arrived in town were gone in no time. And the cassette has been dead for a while now.. But the next one, For all and none, I got on vinyl, and it’s a nice record.

VoodooMiles, this album was on some blog until a couple of years ago. If I find it again, I'll send it to you; I still like it today (it's one of the pages I haven't written) and it stands the test of time better than many others thanks to the "personality" of the approach and the variety of mixtures described in the review. And then (hi Fusillo!) that sort of declaration of intent (if I can only have one life, let me live it as a lie) has been tattooed in my heart ever since.

I completely agree with Saputello regarding Loscil's "personality," something not easy to come across in the "ambient" realm, but not on the favorite, which for me is Plume, and not on the rating for this one, which is above 3.

Well, they landed from now, on the DeB, 5 years ago. This is actually the fourth one. I liked them, I didn't feel this, now I experience it. Thanks for the tip.
