Mulatu Astatke & The Heliocentrics Inspiration Information

Well, can I? I don’t really get the issue... I like this record, I liked it a lot precisely because it is NOT a Mulatu record (which I've actually known for a long time, since I've been into certain tunes since the '80s) but it’s the perfect hybrid between two seemingly distant worlds. I had already appreciated the previous album by the Heliocentrics, and when this curious combination was released, I sniffed it out with suspicion too, but instead... Instead it’s nice, and not just a little. But if we really want to nitpick (do we? really? okay) I’d say there are at least 3,127 albums released the same year that deserve the term ‘easily dismissible’ with much more reason. Even for those who care about Mulatu. In my free time opinion, of course.
Richard Skelton Landings

Beautiful record, yes. I listened to it a lot, immersed in that nebulous substance that somehow emanates from the sounds, probably by virtue of the approach that Mr. Skelton describes in the excerpt posted by Federock. I wouldn’t call it a masterpiece, but I emphasize the care with which the musician in question handles the sound material and the personality that distinguishes him, in a panorama today very inflated with similar productions. Care that can also be found in the previous work, as well as in that under the name Broken Consort, both of which I recommend. I first encountered him with a record from 4 or 5 years ago, an EP named Carousell. And that one wasn't bad either...
Thin White Rope Moonhead
Voto:
Among the comments on the other DePagine dedicated to the Thin, Moonhead often appears as a favorite among the loyal fans, few but devoted. And since this is also an album I haven't listened to in a long time, I'll refresh my memory afterward. In the meantime, thanks for bringing one of the least "fortunate" and most authentic bands back to the homepage.

The album is anything but rubbish, and it deserves a good review like this one, which I share and appreciate. And today I'm spinning it again; it's been a while since I last did, because there are never enough good vibes. Thanks a lot, pink.

Listening to them on YouTube, Fiquata is right: the young marble giants are a source of inspiration... -Appestato, you might like an album from last year that I enjoyed quite a bit, even though it shouldn't have (in the sense that it's not really my cup of tea)... that of Circlesquare, "Songs About Dancing And Drugs," even though the voice is from a boy.

I heard some things in the past and the page made me want to research. I found this nice blog Todo guitarra clĂĄsica: Leo Brouwer - La Obra GuitarrĂstica Vol. VIII: Actuaciones memorables (with the complete plate)... - Thank you for the tip.

You know, Blech, the last time I went to the salon I still had hair... Now I can't even read the little summary of the program :))

Yesterday, I was reading La Stampa and I found out that among the guests at the upcoming book fair is also D.F. Wallace. I mean that the article mentioned him among the guests who will bring prestige to the 2010 edition. The two journalists who signed the piece oversee the cultural pages. And I've said it all, I've said it. Forgive them, our dear Davidino.
Carlo Bordini Manuale Di Autodistruzione

Perhaps a somewhat partial and self-referential reading: it doesn't take into account the destructive adverse force... But it's fine, I used to like Barca too. Up until a few days ago. Then they showed a side I didn't expect, that of fear.
