the "most anarchical" ever, I couldn't say, there's the age d'or, there's the via lattea...

seen a long time ago... I remember little (mainly the brilliant scenes of the "lunch" and the missing girl), but while I wouldn’t know how to speak of the quality, it can surely be said that despite Bunuel being older, this remains one of his most extreme and anarchic films.

@fusillo: don't worry, I just found out about it very recently too!

Apparently, for once it's a respectful title, given that oil companies are referred to as the "there will be blood" (a phrase that seems to be related to layoffs). Anyway, I’m very curious to see it.

Cynic, but it's not about being tacky, because in the videos he’s definitely not tacky. It’s just that the new age guitar genre (this is) leaves me a bit cold. Let me explain: these guitarists do a lot of research to expand their technique, they try to make the guitar self-sufficient by attempting to make it seem like there are more musicians playing at the same time, with rhythm, tapping, harmonics, but if you forget about the music itself, it's quite banal. Then it’s a general discussion, of course there will be exceptions, but I still have to find a Michael Hedges-style player who doesn’t give me that impression frankly.
Brian Eno & Harold Budd Ambient 2: The Plateaux Of Mirror

Hi little devil, great analysis, Budd is always amazing. But let me ask you out of curiosity: are you choosing the records as you go, or do you have a clear action plan in mind?

I don't know, I haven't listened to the album, but a while ago I watched his videos on YouTube and found them generally boring. If I had to judge by what I see, there's a lot of showiness and not much substance; maybe it's just that the world is already full of people who play like this. It's worth mentioning that guitar-only albums, even when they are good (and I suspect this isn't the case), are often boring.

more than de grassi here it's school michael hedges, and various phil keaggy, dominic frasca, Bob Kilgore, kaki king, Andy Mckee, John Butler, Tommy Emmanuel, etc. They’re not the type of guitarists I love, but if any names are of interest…
