LA RECENSIONE

After hearing "When She Cries", I realized that my life would never be the same. A statement like that may seem exaggerated, spur-of-the-moment, senseless. However, I can't help but believe that if I had never had the opportunity to listen to this beautiful record, my life would surely be more barren, emptier.

Drops of perfection like "Drifting", "Rylynn", or "Into the Ocean" cannot help but create a sense of wonder, of warmth that penetrates the heart, of absolute beauty. Since I discovered "Art of Motion," my life is more beautiful. Sounds like these I had never even thought could exist. Nor did I believe there could be someone capable of discovering them.

Andy McKee will probably never be counted among the best guitarists in history; certainly, it would not be the first time that an artist who fully deserves this title disappears from memory, overshadowed by stars less brilliant than he. I don't believe that will be his fate, but in the meantime, I wonder how a man capable of unveiling sensations and emotions so powerfully and elegantly at the same time can remain so unnoticed.

I have always underestimated the acoustic guitar, I believe. Until now, I thought it was just a good instrument for days in the mountains with friends, singing the same four songs, faded now like an old vinyl. Instead, it is capable of emanating more allure than any other instrument, or at least my soul thinks so.

I must have looked like a stunned fish when I went here: I never would have thought of finding all this even in the most distant memories (I believe in the innate origin of ideas J); and to think that "Drifting" even seems less beautiful compared to other gems of the record; this is just to give you an idea... Words will never be able to describe what you can only feel inside. If you really want to seek beauty, choose this album as your soundtrack: you might find it.

I dedicate this to Corey and another person who left us two years ago, on a rainy October day, young like him and who, perhaps, I was not able to fully appreciate.
