Mercury Rev The Secret Migration

Yeah, have you seen them with Afterhours? Well, that's the poppiest period, and I mostly agree with you on the voice, in the sense that that fine falsetto is second only to that of Sigur Rós for its lack of virility, let’s say. Of course, for you, it seems like we live in a world colonized by the Village People...

Baby, I’m here too, don’t forget. After the love triangle, you can try with a square and many other geometric shapes. Then Eneastro is hot-headed, and Odra holds famija (even if a big shot, given his connections, comes here just to make us green with envy).

Saint Antioch of Bisarcio? I thought there was only one Saint Antioch...or maybe I had this nearby review and I missed it.

Well, if you say that, you don't know a song like "buonanotte fratello," definitely not very gay, I assure you...

how much I loved the psychedelic mercury rev! not the post-deserter ones, which were a decline, with a few decent songs (dark is rising, lincoln's eye). Great times when they would stick forks in their eyes and were kicked out of airlines; now they've really become like the pink floyd, from psychedelic to pop-symphonic. Some appreciate it... In The Wilderness is nice, but for me, the Mercury rev are the ones from "sweet oddysee of a cancer cell."

Yesterday I was talking to two guys who had already listened to this record: one found it terrible (with decidedly lighter tastes though, Subsonica, Ska, etc.), the other with more "difficult" tastes didn't find it terrible but was still perplexed. But knowing me, he said: "you'll like it...". Well, he was right: I just finished listening to it, and it really struck me, great album, grandiose atmosphere of "the day after," in a post-apocalyptic, nocturnal and desolate setting. Beautiful...but not for everyone. Slow and "monotonous," for those who don’t love slowness. Awesome for those seeking decadent vibes, also recommended for fans of gothic bands (I think fans of Black tape for a blue girl and Lycia will definitely appreciate it). Usually, I don't like "dramatic" voices, but I really liked his, lyrical and haunting. At this point, I’ll have to check out the rest...great.

It didn't take much... here are the two videos (song to the siren), Fraser version and Tim's (minstrel acoustic) version: link rotto and link rotto. For the second, it's the 4 videos. Unfortunately, the quality is very low, but for anyone who wants to get an idea...

I really like this album, especially Dirty Boulevard, but I find it a bit rhetorical in its lyrics. But wasn't it said "there is no time for phony rhetoric"?
