I had heard about it because the residents had re-recorded one of his songs... or am I mistaken?

Mark Lanegan Whiskey For The Holy Ghost

No, not yet, and if you tell me it’s a total piece of crap, you’re not exactly inspiring me to give it a listen :)... especially since from what I’ve heard, you’re not the only one who thinks that way. When I’m psychologically ready, I’ll give it a shot. But does it really suck that much?

Well, Borracho and Kingdom of Rain are truly great tracks.
Vinicio Capossela Ovunque proteggi

heard it only once, so I won’t vote. However, I thought it was really a nice album, especially "brucia troia" and "medusa cha cha cha a nasaccio." Some time ago, I also wrote about the fact that he is an epigone of Waits. This is absolutely true, and I would add that the most amusing accusations in the other review were those about Waits's supposed musical ignorance, when in fact he is one of the most cultured musicians out there, and from that standpoint, the very talented Capossela still has a long way to go. But this doesn’t diminish the value of the album and the singer-songwriter. One of the recurring arguments from detractors is precisely the inspiration from Waits. It's like saying De Gregori isn't worth it because he draws inspiration from Dylan. I’ve used this rather flimsy argument myself, so I sprinkle ashes on my head and ask for forgiveness.

"Sanpeeeeeeiiii, come fish meeeeeee!" Franchino is GOD. I’ll trade two Nick Cave for a Franchino. A beacon in the night. A guide in the dark. The neon in the hallway.
