Francesco De Gregori Calypsos - 9 canzoni nuove

Hey Grass, I enjoyed listening to the De Gregori 80-90 as well, and there are always a few gems, I’m not saying he’s a finished artist. But the fact that the early 70s work is clearly better, by leaps and bounds, seems to me an undeniable truth. It’s a topic we've already discussed, but what makes the difference is the dryness and originality of the arrangements. The rough De Gregori with the acoustic sound or a little more, like La casa di Hilde, Buonanotte Fratello, Finestre di dolore, Giorno di Pioggia, to name the first ones that come to mind, is infinitely more original and effective than the sentimentality or the clichéd arrangements of everything clearer than here or of Sempre per sempre, which Nathan elevates to masterpieces. That’s all.

de gustibus, if you know, if you don't know and appreciate singer-songwriters, AT LEAST the first four albums are gems. I'm not the only one saying this; read a bit here and there and you'll realize your serious and unforgivable mistakes. I understand someone who doesn't love the genre, but if you like singer-songwriter music, maybe you spend years looking for great albums and don't listen to these? Alice doesn't know, the sheep (aka De Gregori), Rimmel (the one I like the least of the four, but many people's favorite), and Bufalo Bill are really beautiful, I mean so much. But it's up to you, I've told you :))

Look, Tatangelo is indefensible unless as a healthy carrier of miniskirts. But how can one ruin a reputation with Tatangelo? Same goes for Panella; for me, that song is all talk and no substance. Anyway, I may be cliché, but this time I'm the lawyer of simplicity, while you're defending an indigestible musical concoction in the name of Art. Eh.

I remembered why floating in the clearest night, but actually the whole album is so dreamy and carillon-like that it made me think of pavillion of dreams. Dreamy notes in freedom, almost non-existent rhythms like here. Take it take it take it.

Of course I know I'm predictable, I'm not the plot of a thriller with twists. I only change my mind if you sing "surprise me" to me :) Why don't you agree? Because the lyrics are by Panella, right? And what do you have to say about Mogol?

No, not yet. Ever since the infamous duet with Venditti, I've become wary of the prince; I've stayed in love in the afternoon, also pieces, and the whistle of the steam I've only half-heard (two or three songs per record). If I had to rate what I expect, I'd say 2 because I love De Gregori :)). That duet is an emotional watershed: it’s one thing to say he’s moved away from love songs, another to sing "sono antonello e questo è mio fratello bello." Since then, from that "collaboration," I’ve had a block, a kind of refusal for everything that follows that drama.

But was Elio's brawl real? In my opinion, Agnelli wanted to experience the thrill of doing like Alan Vega, who apparently did quite a bit of wrestling at concerts. P.S. now I know who to thank for the sample: thanks, Zurk!

Look, Frost, I don't know what you know, but coming from someone who used to think more or less like you when they knew only a few pieces: you said a stratospheric nonsense. No offense. Who knows what you know, but I can imagine. Goodnight, little flower, cannon woman, mascara, and...?
