In light of the new work "ampia," it seems that Segreto possesses the gift of radiant melody and intense expressive depth. Simplicity is his hallmark, and the heart is always in hand. I hope, peterwanz, that you've had a chance to listen to it. It's one of the most beautiful albums I've personally heard in recent months.

not so bad, now, man. I'm trying to get back "on the road." What do you say?

Yes, it's actually not very clear. I take this opportunity to greet you, Uxo.

No, it's still Marti Jane Robertson. Hi Hal. I saw this guy live a few months ago, in a trio, and he's really worth it.

Out of curiosity, uxo, have you ever tried tuning the B string up an octave? I understand the E (the bass and certainly not the treble), but I fear that the B string wouldn't withstand the tension. Are you a guitarist?

An extraordinarily passionate and engaging album for a young artist, whom I hope can work in serenity. A decent review and a proper mention.

The invaluable Cruciani strikes again. And he leaves those marks that even time cannot erode. All that remains is to wonder where he managed to uncover the news (top secret, reserved only for an elite!) of the "Passo della Peperonata." Due to gastric issues, my doctor strictly prohibited me from consuming my beloved vegetable. Very few were aware of my turn towards the gynecologist's office. When word began to spread, I had to punch more than one paparazzo; they only photographed me when I was drooling, thinking about how I could take advantage of the white coat I wore to jet set parties. As for Ringo, he sometimes still remembers me, and maybe in December I’ll receive a postcard from Easter Island.

Great review. One of the best you've written, Uxo, in my opinion. The story of the Chautauqua is well narrated, and the process of realization is described well without getting too bogged down in technical details (are you sure the strings are tuned an octave higher?). After all, it’s one of the first Pat albums that I hold dear to my heart, and "Sueno con Mexico" still manages (just like the title) to make me dream.

If Metheny has expressed the opinions he has about this work, there must be a reason.... I know this album by heart, including the breaks of "The Epic," and I find it pleasant, invigorating, and sunny. "Airstream" is caressing, and the central crescendo of "Heartland" still gives me chills. I still smile when I hear Gottlieb with "one, two, one two three" in the intro of "American Garage" (which is rock'n'roll), and after almost thirty years of listening to this album, I find that.... perhaps it lacks a bit of depth. Is this perhaps what embarrasses Metheny?
