@Punisher: Don't act cool; the Secco Spumante is a good excuse, even funny, but it doesn't quite cut it. "Sputar Sentenze" implies a certain type of attitude that goes a bit beyond just "fairly dry judgment." My "Nuovo Zingarelli" (which, for heaven's sake, isn't the most up-to-date) states: "One who speaks with finality and seriousness." I suppose you don't need any further clarification on that. At most, it would be enlightening to look up the meaning of "Sentenziare." If you still consider me an "intruder," don't worry; I have no problem stepping back; with apologies, if you wish. :D

Hi Copernico! First of all: Garbarek and not Garbareck. I noticed the repeated 'c' is too much, and please don't hold it against me for this trivial observation. (I invite you to point it out when I make any mistakes in turn.) Regarding "Esoteric Circle," unfortunately, I can't be of much help. I listened to it a long (long) time ago, and the memory has practically faded. I would just be telling you nonsense. I'm sorry. The same goes for "Photo with Red Roof....", "Paths, Prints", and maybe "It's OK to listen to the Gray voice." After all, his discography is quite extensive (even in collaborations), and my memory is starting to falter even with more recent works given the volume of listening. Sorry indeed! :-)
Peter Hammill Chameleon In The Shadow Of The Night

Frankly, no, it's not enough for me if I don't have an overview of the vast Hammillian work. It's precisely thanks to this and the parallel work with VDGG that I can give an almost maximum rating. I’ll tell you, Airone, that my judgment is free from the study and analysis of the texts. In Hammill (as in other vocalists), what I love most is the timbre, expressiveness, and character, and Hammill, evidently, has it in abundance, especially here and in "Silente Corner...". Then, as desired..... :-)

What bad luck! "Breathe," "Time," "The Great Gig In The Sky," and "Us And Them" I had written myself and tossed them away because they seemed silly! But can you believe it... if I had known, I would be rich and famous right now, and instead, no one cares about me... sob!! But what if I had really published them? And what if my brother had expressed the theory of relativity instead of Einstein? And what if PincoPallonio had articulated the Pythagorean theorem? And what if Putin finally said that George W. Bush annoys him? (And if I say it, no one pays attention to me...) But what is this: conspiracy theory, idleness, pataphysical and grotesque doubts, or something else? ;-)

Well, Fagen, I'm really glad; I also wish you many congratulations: it hasn't been so easy for me to decode, understand, and "place." I sincerely hope for an enlightening review that will "warm" me (or refresh me, given the seasonal changes....). For me, as far as I can remember, it wasn't a simple task. "Assimilate it" at your leisure.... :-)

I strongly support Socrates' comment. A few well-chosen words to frame the character. @Symbad: what you say is true, even about Larry Klein. As a fan of the Canadian singer-songwriter, I didn't know about the low rating of "Chalk Mark...". I thought "Dog Eat Dog" should be among the "lesser" works. Bah..... Never saw Joni Mitchell Live? :D

@Punisher: I don't know either the group, the album, you, or Ghemison; and I don't even know if it's the dictionary that states "to give a quite blunt judgment" on Sputare sentenze. However, in my opinion, spitting is by its very nature wet and therefore... it can't ultimately be dry. At least have a chuckle about it, if nothing else. As for the musical matter, I would prefer not to get involved... :D

It's a group I've always followed with a certain regularity, and that only in recent years, probably due to the disappearance of Bardens and the continuous line-up changes, has diminished the great energy of the early works. This is one of those beautiful ones, and the review, in its simplicity, does it justice. Of course, Sinclair's work in the later albums, on bass and vocals, is another thing compared to Ferguson....... Bye.
Calexico Garden Ruin

Sfasciacarrozze is a complex, original, and curious personality. You may like it or not, its style is artistic because it’s creatively "in real time"; however, everyone is always free not to read it if they know that the reading may present difficulties. Sometimes I also find it a bit heavy. I move on and come back to it later, or I skip it altogether. It’s my choice. When I read this review, in its seemingly nebulous way, I found expertise and wit, just as I find its comments here and there relevant and intelligent (when I’m not too tired to interpret them). I own a couple of things by Calexico, and to be honest, they don’t drive me crazy; I don’t know this album, but I acknowledge that the de-reviewing style is unmatched. .......... :D

I had the fortune of seeing and hearing Katchè, I believe, in '89 or '90, alongside Garbarek, Weber, and Bruninghaus, and I had already known of his drumming for some time. I was impressed, as I would later be, retrospectively, by Peter Gabriel's "Secret World Tour." Attentive and elastic, soft and decisive, always perfectly in control and at the service of the ensemble. However, I hadn't listened to this album, which I knew existed. At the end of Garbarek's show, in the dressing room, we exchanged a few words with him along with some friends. I remember he looked at me with a mix of amusement and surprise because the CD I wanted him to sign was "Chalk Mark In A Rain Storm" by Mitchell. He kindly signed it for me, and looking intensely into my eyes, he handed the CD back to me while shaking my hand and said he never expected that CD in that context, and he asked me, "Do you play any instrument?" Nice review, bass player. We'll see about the listening. Thanks, anyway.
