Lùnapop Squèrez?
Voto:
Maybe Lunapop were the Sex Pistols of Italy! A blast of an album, massive media following, Crignini-Johnny Rotten with his hair first bleached and then chrome red, and to top it all off... the band breaks up at the peak of their popularity. If I think that at the time they compared the Decibel's story to that of the Sex Pistols.

the last Italian best seller before the total invasion of mp3s and various ipods. The last time I really saw record stores flooded with teenagers caught up in a musical craze. At that time, it seemed just like another one, one of the many. It would be the last one until today. Let's hope another band and another album can soon take its place. Good review, but a bit too fearful of readers' judgments and excessively shy... don’t worry, no one will eat you if you write a valid review, whether it's on Brian Eno or the Lunapop!

People with slap-worthy faces make me think that maybe this review was written for someone beyond my usual ten loyal readers...thank you for the support!

Incredible that it hadn't been reviewed yet, but lucky that you stepped in... excellent and concise for a milestone of my favorite listens.
Billy Idol Rebel Yell

a character with his own reasons...better as a solo act than with the confused generation X...too bad he burned his career with cyberpunk, a little metal machine music from the '90s...but the pop intuition and charisma were quite high, and he was perfect for his own time (and maybe this explains why he was rejected by the next decade...)

And then, as for the best albums of the year, of course I include Slint alongside the names mentioned... I don't see your "difference in category": among the best 50 albums of 1991 (each in its position), they all belong. And it's no small feat for Spiderland to be in a hypothetical top 50 in the year of Nevermind, Achtung Baby, or BloodSugarSexMagik...

"modest song...but for the Sanremo scene (to which it was indeed addressed), it is very dignified." If you reread this sentence of mine...I didn't speak of "modest" and "very dignified" in absolute terms, but only relative to that context for which it was created. Sorry, but I missed the “pupe e i secchioni,” I was out of Italy until three days ago...
Jerry Lee Lewis Last Man Standing

Absolutely true... savvy move with the collaborations, but unlike, for example, Santana, Jerry didn't need it at all. More of a rock'n'roll animal than Lou Reed (and for me that's not saying much, it's saying a whole lot).

Yes, dear Soc. I have abandoned you. You are completely right, and I have no worthy excuses..! Except that I spent a couple of the last months abroad, then the holiday seasons, and... I have to admit, those few times I returned to the site, there was an increasingly anonymous and uninspiring atmosphere... maybe I just happened to come across those few lean moments, but I hardly saw any of the “historic” nicknames of debaser (like egebamyasi nothernsky zion josi kosmogabri pacino caz francis etc etc), except for a few flurries from survivors like grasshopper or odradek, who has returned as a regular... and then Paolo, who took the reins of congenial genres to us... can you manage to update me a bit??? About the site, about who is there, who used to be there, who has always been there. And especially about you, how have these past months been, and if you kept writing anything here... it will be a tough task, but it will be a huge favor that I promise to repay! If you want, you can also reply to me with a private message, whichever you prefer.
