Deicide Serpents Of The Light
Voto:
Francis short-circuits everyone... I advise you to relax a bit, both those who have gotten carried away and those who are disgusted. You’re commenting on a review, talking about an album, that's all... Anyway, the album deserves even less. In my opinion, the only truly noteworthy album by Deicide is the first one; after that, the roast is over and only smoke remains.
Cat Stevens Tea For The Tillerman
Voto:
Every now and then I return here, and I find comfort thinking of Tea For The Tillerman, about those emotions. Even last night, an evening like any other, he managed to move me, just like Dylan or Cohen never could. Cat is profoundly human, the boy next door but wise beyond measure. His golden period (at least for us Westerners) didn't last long. But for those who have a heart that knows how to listen, nothing and no one will make them forget. Because he is unique, solitary; there are no true genres, no real models or epigones when it comes to Cat. There is him, and that's enough for us.
Everything But The Girl The Language Of Life
Voto:
one of the most confused and inconsistent of EBTG. But a passionate reception, with one eye on the past and one on the future of the group, just as I like to do. You give us an "overview" of their entire journey, and with expertise. Even though you snub the later part of their career too much (which I think is very dignified, if only they would start recording something again instead of wasting time with useless remixes!)

George Michael, "Faith". And don't get wet from the excitement...a kiss

Hey Alex, I even dedicated a review to you, didn't you read it? Fre inflated but also super inflated by others. In the end, it's just a review...

toh enea, I just read your lick... thank you! finally, the discussion is taking a more appropriate tone... but this way, I fear that the fun will end soon and the conversation will extinguish itself in softer tones... please let the hotheads come back, let's rekindle the diatribe!
Fred Buscaglione A qualcuno piace Fred
Voto:
Thank you all, I see that nothing escapes you, not even when I’m at rest…! for me here feels like home, and every now and then you have to return home… if then the whole family is gathered…! anyway this collection is recommended simply because it is relatively inexpensive (full price but it's two CDs and 50 songs of ours), the box you mention is even more comprehensive, indeed it is the best, but for the inexperienced (and the saver) perhaps an excellent introduction like this best of is better.

Excuse me, I meant to say "but who understood that..." and "well done, but...". Enea, legendary, unreachable crusader on the most entertaining page of the week (now that we’ve started taking MarYelena seriously too)… hilarious that r'n'r star blaring at full volume before heading out Saturday night.

You are really funny.. I haven't listened to the album, except for the single, which, despite being a bit cheesy and predictable, I don't mind.. Francis, your review is worthy of you, filled with thoughtful passion and the naïveté of someone who listens without getting all worked up at the mere mention of an ex taketake (and oh, if only Gary would come back, heaven forbid..). And as usual, you throw out big statements, bigger than anyone else, but you've understood that these are just little jabs and not biblical judgments, which allows you to appreciate yourself better. Well done, don’t get back to pecking with those who offend you. Only respond if they judge the review (objectively) or the album. Provided they've actually listened to it, and aren't speaking about it a priori just imagining it.
Dire Straits "On The Night"
Voto:
jodo took the words right out of my mouth... in my opinion, it's a delirious and grandiloquent live performance. Saxophones galore just to create an atmosphere, along with delirious expansions of tracks that are already long enough on their own, of course. Moreover, it doesn't seem to be a representative summary of the group's career (as - I believe - it should have been), given its imbalance towards the mild repertoire of On Every Street, with the ungrateful absence of many gems from "Dire Straits" (at least "Sultans of Swing"...), "Communique," and, I don't know, Tunnel Of Love... It roughly breathes the same atmosphere as this swan song. If you're passionate fans like Claudio or if you liked OES, you might appreciate this live more than I do. However, there are some very good versions of old classics like Money For Nothing, perhaps even better and more forceful than the studio version.
