I also really like the one by Lambchop, even though it's a bit long and I struggle to get to the end (my favorite is Betweemus). Between the two, I still prefer California. As for The River, it's true that there's something in common, but it's been ages since I've listened to it and I'm not sure. I'll give it a listen again and let you know.
