The Cure Pornography
Voto:
@Mr Iko: You are young, and it shows. I wanted to comment on Pornography precisely because I found your review heartless and wanted to do it justice. In your review, you barely mentioned Pornography, except in the text, and you didn't manage to describe the warmth of the music and the suffering of RS, the artist who presents himself as a carnival mask... don't take it the wrong way, but there is no right or wrong, no superficial or deep; there are many facets that represent the same thing without denying it or adding or taking anything away... :)

Beautiful review Barry Lyndon, you convinced me to buy the record!

You know, Barry Lyndon is the same thing I thought when they broke up, but it's often not easy to stay together. At that time, GLF had just discovered he was very seriously ill, which is why he later called the new group Per Grazia Ricevuta, and he didn't even know if he would survive. Who knows what happened between them... Think about Tabula Rasa; the lyrics are beautiful and the performances too, but the work itself is quite cacophonous, more punk than rock, as if something didn’t really work, as if there were two roads—the lyrics and the music—that could no longer meet. Unfortunately, we humans learn more easily from painful experiences, and perhaps time will heal their wounds, but who knows what mechanisms were created between them. Without knowing the reasons for their separation, I always felt that MZ left because something had hurt him deeply; let's say that Sorella Sconfitta didn’t change my mind about this. But nothing can deny that this album is gorgeous, and if you really loved their music, accept the human reality that concerns them and don't renounce the artists—after all, you're the one who loses something!!! See you soon :)))

I downloaded the music and fatwar impressed me just as much. But strangely, the singer reminds me of Scialpi. The style is what Scialpi tried and wasted by chasing his own image reflected by the cameras. Surely, Lovecoma do not have the superficiality that characterized his work instead.

Hi Hal, thank you for the compliments and thank you for the welcome even though I am female!!!! :) I don’t think MZ wrote the lyrics with GLF in mind either; I believe that, being this his style, he reworked the detachment from the group simply to continue being himself... and, true to form ;) , I’m just happy to have been able to listen again to the sounds I loved so much in the past.

I have fiercely loved Dead Can Dance, I spent days and days accompanied by their music, and when they separated, I saw Lisa Gerrard and Brendan Perry as two skilled and talented professionals missing a "piece"... I didn’t know anything about this CD, but you've really piqued my curiosity, and even though it will be a tough task to find it, after the glories of the soundtracks, Lisa remains a niche product. I will let you know what I think. Excellent review indeed.

Okay, it may be that Giovanni Lindo doesn't have a pretty face, but his lyrics are unique and anyway this summer at the Notte della Tarantola down in Puglia he jumped for half an hour like a grasshopper and the band that accompanied him was anything but gloomy... meanwhile, Stewart Copeland broke the drumsticks....

It's a work that's now quite old, especially since the CSI have released another two CDs, albeit in the form of compilations, and then reintroduced without Zamboni as PGR in two other splendid works, of which Montesole is the masterpiece. I believe that in this album the separation between the lyrics and the music is all too evident, sometimes even distorted. I think this happened: Zamboni wanted to return to the hard rock of the beginnings, while Ferretti needed to move towards new paths.

I saw the Arab tonight in Milan. I've always liked them, but I have to admit that if someone is feeling a little down, maybe it's better to switch to another genre... I do admit, though, that I have all their CDs and my favorite is elephant shoes.
