The first time I saw Raiz live, I was literally overwhelmed. We were in a small theater in Milan for the presentation of Luigi Cinque's album, Tangerine Cafè, and Raiz sang "Niente Senza 'e te." All the women in the room, myself included, started imagining him naked, but I believe Ron and his boyfriend were thinking the same thing. They were drooling profusely, even more than we were... aside from the gossip, really, Raiz is a stage animal like few I’ve had the pleasure of seeing, not to mention he has a magnificent voice of rare power!

I didn't say everyone, but I reiterate that the Cure have been supported by a talented arranger... have you heard the driving track? The End of The World? I haven't listened to the entire album yet, but that track, yes. It's built to please the masses. I agree that Robert isn't a fool, but he knows very well, just like the various rock legends do (PJ Harvey is still a force with a bunch of new ideas in her head), that he needs to keep selling and maintain the same level of income if he wants to keep doing everything else. Moreover, artists, once they reach a certain age, really need to refresh themselves, otherwise it's all the same, even Bowie admits it! ;)

Kosmo, an arranger, is not needed to add violins to a track (let alone one by the Cure, just imagine PJ Harvey); an arranger makes music catchy, but not only that—it makes it coherent, and almost all artists use them. 4AD, for example, a legendary record label, has many artists who, if they wanted to, could be concert masters because almost all of them are musicians with a substantial background in composition.
