Yes, but the fact remains that: 1) this movie represents nothing and no one; it's a comedy, and as you can see, it has managed to get a few laughs from more than one person. 2) It can be liked or not liked: does it have to be a masterpiece or crap? Can't it just be a nice/average/pleasant film that brings a few laughs? 3) If it's mainstream, it's crap; if it's indie snob, it's something for hipsters: someone needs to make peace with their brain!!!

But who said that Checcho is the greatest modern comedian? The same argument that was made for Fantozzi's films: at first, they were crap, then someone decided to elevate them to masterpieces worthy of treatises on trivial sociology (but the humor of the clerk has always been visual, grotesque, so very little rational, even though there are many moments when you laugh bitterly)! But aren't there any middle grounds?!

Here, I was about to write pretty much the same thing up there... honestly, this whole thing about Benigni as some kind of intellectual and philosopher is getting on my nerves: fiddling with trinkets, silly feminine antics, an essay on terminology to describe genitalia (black & decker?!!!!!!), the usual fake satirical nonsense... ah, this is just a simple movie, not the Bible...
