I don't think it's a matter of lazy ears: the ukulele is an instrument with limited harmonic capacity, and quite a lot, so either you nail the vocal melody that hits you hard or at least captures attention, or the result will be disgraceful. And indeed, the album is as flat as an ironing board. I find it really unattractive; there's not a single noteworthy track, despite the voice always being excellent. Into the wild was a whole different story.

Want anxiety from "they're going to get caught"? It's here! Want a heartbeat from "now they're going to hook up"? There’s that too! Everything is here, what the hell more do you want from a movie?!
