beautiful page...even though I'm not a fan of Toto, Lukather is amazing! And the anecdote about Jeff Beck is really cool!! Truly an alien with the instrument...for those who don't know it, I recommend Beck's performance in the piece Nadia!!!

not to repeat, but Maynard is the deus ex machina only of his own rectum!

But come on, I'm not getting mad, it's all just for fun ;)! Great analysis, you're the first one to explain something decently... the only thing is that it seems a bit forced to me, like looking for analogies at all costs... to me, he just seems to have improved from core to purple, improved over time, kind of like everyone else (except Cornell, who has always had exceptional talents...)! But again, I'm not claiming to have any truth, in fact, only the talks of those who speak as if they were close friends of the entire grunge scene make me laugh!

Well, it's obvious about Soundgarden, black... and I also agree about AIC, but don't say it too loudly or someone might feel sick!

Good night then. So, whether even flow is better is up to you to say... in my opinion, plush leaves it in the dust. I couldn't care less if there are 4 chords or 1000 chords and 200 solos... when does the number of notes become important to you? I don’t get it, you contradict yourselves, especially since you were the one who said, "Embryo is right about the comparison he makes to Plush": I explained why it's nonsense, I explained it very well, and you can see the difference in the scores (but you can hear it perfectly too)!
Then, I'm sorry if I touched the man you have on your poster in your room, but Weiland has a wider vocal range than Eddie. Period. Ask whoever you want! I also prefer Eddie, but Eddie doesn’t have great range! Range has never been a criterion for me! You're right about Interstate, it has the same feel as Plush, but so what? You hear Layne in it... but how the hell will Weiland imitate Layne in a piece that, by the way, has nothing to do with AIC? Ah, you figured it out from the video of the song because he’s dressed the same! Hmm... if I asked you to explain specifically what you mean by a vague statement like "you'll find hints, interpretations, and vocal inflections of the late Layne Staley"... I’m sure you wouldn’t know how to respond, especially since you show little familiarity when you don't realize that vocal inflections fall under interpretation!! Then explain to me what vocal inflection is!!! To me, it seems like the usual EMPTY TALK!
@tourette: what you're saying seems perfectly reasonable... I don't put them on the same level as AIC and Soundgarden either, but one step below...

Alessio, I'm perfectly calm, you got that? I'm having fun... for me it's a blast, especially when I realize that some people just talk nonsense (I'm speaking generally... it's not directed at you)! Tastes are certainly subjective, and no one possesses absolute truths, clear... the scores, those are objective, so you do your thing... seems pretty clear, right?
Rikii, same as above... if I got mad in front of a kid, I’d probably need to be hospitalized, this is pure fun! But it also makes sense that, not knowing them (right? first time?), you might mistake them for the PJs; in the end, if you’re doing a ballad or a mid-tempo rock, it’s easy to find common elements! The notes are the same, the voices have similar tones, and 4/4 is king (not everyone has the skills of Soundgarden)... but it's quite different to put it this way compared to "dishonest plagiarists copying the PJs," don’t you think? Otherwise, every opinion is welcome, even that of sophisticated Britpop or the Oasis who inspired Metallica for Load (:D)... how can one not have fun?

It can be both, and also just a good record, only that some people justify it, while others don’t know what they’re talking about!

Everyone says they’re sycophants, they’re copycats, they’re dishonest… Whatever, then you ask why and the answers say NOTHING, if not a biased opinion! You ask for harmonic and melodic comparisons between STP and PJ: Zilch, no one responds! You ask to explain where this similarity or imitation between Plush and Even Flow would lie in terms of harmony, rhythm, and melody (both vocal and guitar), and no one answers, perhaps because they HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH IT! The only thing is that Even Flow turns into a mid-tempo (like Plush) in the chorus! For the rest, absolutely zero!
PS Even Flow is based on a Mixolydian mode, for those who know what that is, Plush doesn’t even come close!

So... @alessio: you dreamed up the Vedder/Young comparison in your wet, wanking nights—same goes for rockin'! I NEVER said anything like that, read again! We completely agree on the honesty thing, 100%, that's exactly why I don't feel like judging the STP, also because I didn’t go to dinner with them! And I repeat, they suck for you, and you’re nobody… just say it TO ME!
@embryo: I'm sorry you consider it nonsense, I'M TRYING TO MAKE YOU UNDERSTAND A CONCEPT THAT JUST DOESN'T GET INTO YOUR HEAD! You're already starting to tone it down, but when you say "their music seems almost made up to sell" (now it seems to you... before...) it’s pure populism because 1) you STILL don’t explain which compositional elements lead you to say that 2) I’M STILL waiting for an analysis of their style to understand on what you base your earlier statement of HONESTY, and especially to understand your comparisons... I’VE BEEN WAITING 2 DAYS FOR SUCH HARMONIC MELODIC ANALYSIS, WHO KNOWS WHY IT NEVER COMES; NEVER; NEVER!!!! 3) COME ON with PLUSH!! It’s an incredibly absurd claim, damn it, see post no. 7, otherwise explain to me the rhythm, melody line, harmonic structure, and key of the two pieces!! THEY DON'T HAVE ANYTHING IN COMMON!!!!! 4) "Vedder and Weiland don't have similar voices, Weiland tries to make his sound similar!" Question: Are you a singing teacher? I repeat, they have very similar timbres, only Weiland's is more extensive! The idea of "trying" is a HUGE LOAD OF BULL! NOW GO AHEAD AND LAUGH!
@Cornell: I challenge you! Explain the rhythm, harmony, and melody (key, scales used, chords) of EVEN FLOW and PLUSH! I’m repeating this for the millionth time! THEY DON'T HAVE ANYTHING IN COMMON! Ask anyone with a basic knowledge of harmony and they’ll tell you the same! The funny thing is, even in the chorus they don’t sound alike! The notes sung by the two voices are completely different, and the vocal rhythm is the same!! PURE POPULISM!!
I'm sick of repeating the same things, especially since there isn’t a single person with a bit of open-mindedness to say "maybe if I checked the two scores I’d find out I said something stupid"! For the rest, think whatever the hell you want and listen to whatever the hell you want! I’ll still sleep the same!

Look, I appreciate that at least you tried to explain your point of view, unlike some phenomena! So, let's see: 1) the voice is a gift, it seems clear to me. Weiland's is beautiful, Vedder's is too! They have similar ranges, but I'm not a singing teacher and I would never feel comfortable saying "this one copies that one"! Based on what, an impression? Then Staley sang in such a unique way that I don't see anything similar in Core! 2) No, sorry, but this is comical: I understand that you like Pearl Jam, I like them a lot too, but if you're looking for someone derivative, it's them... you say "they have other influences (hard, some punk, American rock)," and I say to you, you basically just described Neil Young again (much less punk, of course, but try listening to Rockin' in the Free World!!! It's all so evident..) 3) Play Big Empty, Vaseline, Kitchen, or Lounge Fly for your friends... if they find anything of PJ or AIC in there, then tell them to go back to listening to Ligabue! But what do you know if they were honest or cunning?! I mean, it seems like you're going to dinner with the STP, playing a round of golf with Rick Rubin, and slapping Pamela Anderson's butt in your free time! Damn, what do you know? But at least have a bit of humility! Talk about objective data... for the rest, it's clear, you're free to think of them as you wish... but I'm still waiting for someone to give me the speech on compositional style, just to understand....
