Mocampo, try not to misunderstand... obviously, they are all professionals... it's clear that you are allowed to, advice is always welcome... I’ll give it a try, but honestly, it doesn’t seem like anything special to me... obviously, he knows how to keep time, and he remains a professional, but to pass him off as a great drummer seems to me quite a stretch... I repeat, maybe I'm exaggerating, but it doesn’t seem to me that the criticisms aimed at his rock pieces are so unfounded...

@OMAH: I doubt that Zucconi engages in demagoguery or populism... the risk is always the same: one expresses an opinion and if we don't like it, it automatically becomes populism or demagoguery... He is a tremendous journalist, with clear leftist sympathies (NOTE AND OBVIOUS) to whom he has nonetheless not spared harsh criticisms (WELL-DESERVED, in my opinion...)... it's clear that he expresses his own opinions, not always in line with ours, but for someone with his culture and his wealth of experience, it seems strange that he would fall into demagoguery...

@Mocampo: I speak good English and I understand his lyrics well... my reference was to Nebraska and Tom Joad: without an understanding (for those who don't know English, a translation) of the lyrics, those two works are worth half (and for me they are masterpieces)...
@Marcos: clear for me, but I pointed you to a whole review of reasons why I think that: guitar playing close to zero, extremely low technical quality of both bass and drums (really bad), a voice front and center (coincidentally like in Italy, where rock is not rock but pop of mmmmmxxxxx with 4 m's from the charts), down-to-earth arrangements... for me, rock is Hendrix, the Zeppelins, Cream, and many others... he with the electric guitar just manages to resemble the Ligabue of America (ok, a bit exaggerated, but think about it...)... quite the opposite with the acoustic
@brusco: who cares about energy, Jennifer Lopez has that too when she dances for hours to her songs. There’s a big difference between POPULAR and POPULIST! This is Italian, just read a dictionary... Progressive, like rock, can be, has been, and will be popular genres, at least as long as there are deserving musicians... about prog, another nonsense... King Crimson will have max pushed you away... rock an elitist genre? But the world was there listening to Hendrix, the Zep, and Pink Floyd? Are you just writing for the sake of writing or what?
@stricnica: me too

And don't take what's written at face value...let's say that many good reasons have been analyzed for why, as a ROcker, it's not that great!

Here, let me help you understand why as a rocker he's not much (I like to say he's worth nothing, but only because I'm convinced of it just as I'm convinced he's exceptional in another role).

In my opinion, you're just spouting a load of nonsense, but the world is beautiful because it's diverse and everyone can have their say... I won't even spend a second explaining to you why he doesn't amount to anything as a rocker; just go read some other reviews and you'll find out for yourself... Let me clarify: as a rocker, he has never had anything to say; as an acoustic singer-songwriter, he's an authentic phenomenon... We all know the lyrics to Nebraska and The ghost of Tom Joad by heart, thanks for the suggestion.

hmm... I don't know... yes, maybe I overdid it, but really as a rocker he means nothing to me... and maybe it's emphasized because as a singer-songwriter, with acoustic guitar and harmonica, he's truly outstanding...
