If your names were Cantrell or Kinney or Inez, I would like to see you give up something you’ve poured everything into... just my opinion...

My judgment is not absolute, for heaven's sake... I repeat, I don’t like the aesthetic background, but that’s my way of seeing things... as for their music, I don’t know, it doesn’t resonate with me... if they put passion into it and deserve it, I wish them all the possible fortunes... even Fear Factory had a cyber and futuristic element in their music, but I’ve never seen Cazares or Burton enter the stage dressed like Mad Max and then take off their masks because they’re overexposed (if not, why didn’t they keep them on?!)... But, I repeat, it’s all a matter of taste...

No no, I don't mean to offend, I just find the cover frankly ugly... even Hurt remade by Johnny Cash is flipped around, but for me it's a thousand times better than the original... I know them, although not very well... I've never seen them live... but their way of conceiving music (with the so-called aesthetic background) doesn't appeal to me... but that's my way of seeing music... the one with the gas mask, I just can't handle it... what is it supposed to communicate to me?! Nothing... just a show, very poser... it's another way of doing Bon Jovi, those big-haired ones, these gothic cyber dank punk and all the rest...

@Gasta: I know them, I find them terrible, really terrible, their names make me laugh, their attitudes and the way they dress make me laugh, everything is the opposite of the spirit of the AIC, and the cover is obscene... but it's just my opinion, nothing personal... maybe they are nice people and even charming, I don't know them in person, I'm talking about music!
@Franci: Franci, just to reiterate, why on earth should they give up the name? In my opinion, they carry it with great pride and it's part of them... mainstream or not, together with Soundgarden they give a run for everyone...

It's your opinion, Alessio... I put myself in their shoes, and I tell you that I wouldn't give up the name that still means so much for 3/4 of the group... I don't make it a matter of money, but of personal pride... the AIC are them too!

Ah, you said there's no down in a hole here?! Well, then this collection is worth even less... We think the same way, Cornell, consistency and pride!

The Reverse JD changed their name, but Ian was everything (personal opinion) in the JD... Layne is also a big part of AIC, but I believe Cantrell represents the main songwriter and he's the one who gave the sound and main characteristics to the band... Then I put myself in the shoes of the 3 remaining members, and I tell you, I would proudly carry the name AIC and wouldn't abandon it so easily... after all, it's also their creation...
The good thing is that the singer is not trying to mimic him, and with Cantrell, the vocal harmonies are close but not identical to the old ones, and it's a pleasure to hear them (among other things, many will discover how truly important and charismatic Cantrell's voice was even before) at least for me... I hope for the quality of the compositions...

The album is pointless, because like in any compilation for bands of a certain caliber, huge tracks are left out (as you yourself pointed out)... at most, it might be good for some newcomer who has never heard of AIC! The review is nice, although Sap, in my personal opinion, isn’t that great of an album... especially compared to the ones that came after... question? What do you mean by Down in a Hole being left out? I have it on Dirt, and it’s not a reissue! One last note: apart from the fact of keeping the band’s name, a choice that is somewhat understandable (3/4 of the band is there, and in the end, Cantrell has always been the main songwriter, I believe he and the others proudly carry the name AIC), the new singer fits perfectly in the band’s harmonies... hearing him and Cantrell sing together has a certain impact... now let’s hope for the quality of the compositions!
