Emerson (and Alfredo) agree, Jabbar is clearly the best among the "wings" (though, I guess there were times when Magic played second fiddle to him)... in the end, you made me want to go back and watch all the old game videos... and now what do I do?! Well, goodnight beauties... if you want to start a topic for tomorrow, I'll gather it (and Don too, I'm sure...)!

No, Alfredo, it was Emerson... I don’t think they hated each other, but Bird was hyper-competitive... he practically had colorful exchanges with everyone, except maybe with Magic (I don’t remember)... I also think Jabbar was clearly stronger (just like Pippen and Moses)... that’s exactly why I say Larry’s greatness was also in getting the players around him to perform incredibly... Yes, McHale was really strong, but I still see him a step below the others mentioned... and James Worthy was truly an underappreciated player... very strong... haha, Danny Ainge, an idol! I miss the old Celtics and the old NBA... forget about those four ā€œscavengersā€ today! :)

Among other things, and here I ask you too, am I the only one who thinks that without Bird, Parish, and McHale, they would be remembered as great players but certainly not as Hall of Famers today?! I mean, the difference between a Parish or a McHale, and a Pippen, a Jabbar, or a Moses Malone seems very clear to me, and certainly not in favor of my guys...

Here, just to share my opinion... I've always been annoyed by the Lakers, especially because they breeze through to the finals like fresh roses, and the Bulls too, because I think they really dodged the peak of the four best teams of the era: Sixers, Lakers, Pistons, and Celtics... 2 three-peats are too much; in my opinion, they would have never made it if they faced even one of those teams at their peak...

Ahaha, yes Emerson, it made me laugh too, I actually see Don more as a metalworker! :) ...but about the little Nazi attitudes... come on, it’s true he was a real bastard, but after all, he also fought using a bit of psychology --- Isiah went to the psychologist after meeting the metalworker...

He was 32 years old if I’m not mistaken... but that doesn’t change much. I don’t know if my memories are distorted, but I remember that every time the Sixers were mentioned, it was about a powerhouse... I’m not sure how short Toney's career was, so I’ll check... but you should remember the serious back issues that affected Larry throughout his career... while if I'm not mistaken, Julius has always been pretty intact...

Ah, then, as Don points out, quoting Isiah and his statements has a certain folkloric quality! A bit like the words of the Mad Hatter "Bird cicciotto, lattiginoso e lentigginoso, con quella faccia da birraio e quegli atteggiamenti da nazistello (nazistello?????????)": of course, we are talking about a walking trash can, the three-point contests, the assists, the rebounds, the three consecutive MVPs (which Magic dreamed of until his back held up Bird), the Rookie of the Year title, the Finals MVP against Magic in college (despite the loss), the record for the winning percentage in his first year with the Celtics! These too are folkloric...

Uh, the second person Emerson... well, I remember a tremendous team that was just unlucky to run into the Celtics and the Lakers (who, as usual, strolled their way to the finals). You mentioned GOAT earlier, so let me quote him too: "Moses changed the dynamics of Philadelphia and the entire league. Philly found itself with a terribly strong team, with Andrew Toney, Maurice Cheeks, Bobby Jones, Julius Erving, and Malone himself!" It doesn't seem like he said "Malone and Julius and a bunch of scrubs..."
