My favorite albums are: QUEEN 2 and SHEER HEART ATTACK! If you can... give them a listen! ;-) Cheers!

In fact, as you teach me, it often happens that the single sucks or is commercial and simple... and then you listen to the album and discover a whole new world!! And that’s why I always say not to stop at the singles..! And I also always say not to pay attention to what critics say (like the various SCARUFFI... etc.) not only about QUEEN... but in general! Just think that... I love DURAN DURAN, who are hated by everyone... but I don't care..! Still talking about QUEEN: unfortunately, everyone has the various GREATEST HITS of QUEEN and many people (maybe because they don’t have money, time, or desire...) don’t download or buy the other albums... and judge based on the GREATEST HITS which, as you know well, are terrible albums because they contain the best chart hits (and therefore very often commercial little songs..)!
So... if you judge QUEEN based on the GREATEST HITS or the songs that you hear on the radio... then I agree with you and all the detractors: QUEEN ARE NOTHING SPECIAL..! But if you then go to listen to the whole albums (especially the first 6 albums, I would say..) you discover excellent things both technically and in terms of inventiveness and creativity..! BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY is, in my opinion, nothing compared to the first 3 albums of QUEEN..! Alright.. I hope I made myself understood..! Greetings! Bye bye!

As for QUEEN (let’s get back ON TOPIC..come on..eheh) I honestly don’t know if you know them well enough to judge them or if you only know them marginally..! I mean..you said you don’t know QUEEN 2..! QUEEN 2 is perhaps the best album by QUEEN and, talking to other fans, I think I can conclude that it’s also the most beloved one (maybe even more than A NIGHT AT THE OPERA..) so..if you can at least download it and listen to it..I’d love to hear your opinion on it..! The main problem with QUEEN (that makes them the subject of serious PREJUDICE..) is this: since MERCURY died..there has been a real media frenzy around QUEEN: so much publicity..always mentioned..always brought up..often played on the radio..etc..! Obviously..for something to be played on the radio..it has to be COMMERCIAL..! And so everyone knows the more commercial songs by QUEEN..that is to say the simpler ones..like RADIO GA GA..A KIND OF MAGIC..UNDER PRESSURE..WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS..etc..which I personally HATE! But they are really successful..! Because of all this..people categorize QUEEN as a commercial band..or as a band that compromised just to sell..or simply as a band devoid of significant ideas..! And all this, as I think you can confirm, is absolutely wrong to assert UNLESS YOU LISTEN TO THE ALBUMS IN THEIR ENTIRETY..!

PROG is my favorite genre..! Anyway.. back to QUEEN.. the point, in my opinion, is this: their early albums are, objectively, valid! After that, they really lost their way in favor of very lightweight and sometimes insignificant things..! But people like you and others, because of this downward qualitative arc, tend to erase all the good they’ve done! You shouldn’t do that, in my view! Just because most of the albums post-A Night At The Opera are less valid.. doesn't mean we should erase all the good they did in the previous albums..!

I agree on this..! But.. it bothers me that.. a lot of people compete to throw out the names of the more obscure artists.. just to say: "I listen to the real music that the ignorant masses don’t listen to.."! This is the truth for many people..! And yet.. why can’t there be good stuff in commercial music too? Or in what’s more mainstream? That’s all..! Then.. we agree that many are overrated! Not just the QUEEN..! In fact.. I’ll tell you: in recent years I’ve seen a bunch of negative reviews about the QUEEN (and even when they were alive.. I read some nasty reviews..) so.. Yes.. but don’t treat me like a blind fool who only sees QUEEN! I repeat.. I hardly ever listen to them! I hate WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS with all my heart..! So.. don’t talk to me about it..! As for the rest.. well.. I’d say there are plenty of bands like QUEEN.. come on..! Come on guys.. let’s not act like children.. if you start criticizing QUEEN too, it’s truly over for everyone..! It’s fine to say "I don’t like them," etc..! But to say they have 1-2 good songs on each album.. etc.. that’s just childish, annoyed by their success..! I’m just saying that.. they are so different.. it could only have been made by someone like him! And then there’s a certain BRIAN MAY who.. while not as technical as SATRIANI, still has great style and is an excellent composer..! But.. come on.. let’s not talk about the lyrics.. because if we have to talk about them.. there are so many people who suck..! Just think of BONO VOX.. that self-important guy in his latest album says in one line: "I just want peace baby.. peace love is all I want.."! Come on.. it’s the festival of rhetoric! And people and the media praise him too!!! At least MERCURY didn’t care about how he looked.. etc.. but that’s another story..!
