Carpathian Forest Through Chasm, Caves and Titan Woods

It's the fault of the municipality of Rome and its damn fines. Jokes aside, I don't hold it against you Emanuele; on the contrary, I appreciate the eclecticism with which you approach music and the passion you put into reviewing lesser-known bands (you were the one who reviewed Lengsel, right?). Just, in your first post, you made a double mistake, in my opinion: you gave an incorrect answer to Icnarf, who wanted to know what black'n'roll is (and it’s a tough task to prove that Satyricon has anything to do with b’n'r), thus somewhat adulterating his potential future approach to the genre, and, more importantly, you wanted to provide an explanation without having the right knowledge. That's it. Sorry, when it comes to black metal I tend to be quite strict, but I repeat, I have nothing against you. With respect.

Now diabolical is nothing. Now diabolical is a thrash-infused experiment filled with some vague, obvious, terrible black metal influence, adulterated for commercial purposes with hard rock rhythms. For the rest, it’s true what you say: the black’n’roll of the Carpathian is a bit forgettable. The fact is that I assert this taking into account the listening of all their albums, and recognizing the excellent craftsmanship of many of them (strange old brew, morbid fascination of death, and this one being reviewed, just to name a few), while, forgive me, it seems to me that your judgment is less considered. Regards.

To say that black'n'roll is what Satyricon is doing on Now, Diabolical, seems to me more than heresy; it’s a big load of crap. Great album, maybe a band that's a bit too punky, but with their subsequent albums, they've made a good contribution to the scene.

DarkHaem, you should be a bit more humble. You have an arrogant writing style that invites criticism... and unfortunately offers more than one hook for it, as someone has pointed out to you. Moreover, today at five in the morning, while I was riding my motorcycle, I entered a preferential lane with electronic detection of violations, and I am anxiously awaiting this 70 euro fine, so it’s bothering me a bit.

Here, cursed be the moment I commented on this review and got back to arguing with the metalheads. But here we are again. So, point number one: lower your pretty swords from metal defenders and step down from your pedestals, because while you were discovering Akercocke, I was sharing the stage with Impaled Nazarene (just to name one among many). Point number two: DarkHaem, it’s true, I don't know you, I’m sorry if I offended your sensitivity... still, the fact remains that what I’m saying is essentially true: your phrases are redundant, your syntactic constructions are unclear, twisted, and not objectively understandable (in the sense that you make so much noise with the subordinates that the same sentence can mean 4 different things), you make mistakes in choosing logical connectors, and sometimes, due to this dreadful and general confusion, you produce subject-verb agreements worthy of a night course in Italian for non-EU citizens. That said, yours is still a pleasant result, and the errors, mixed into such a sophisticated context, are hardly visible to the average language competences. Point three: well done, come and comment on my reviews, especially those from 2003, five years ago, when I was sixteen and a pseudo-literate metalhead just like you, so you can look in the mirror and say "well, in the end, I’m not that much of a piece of crap." If you really want to read something I wrote, paying attention to the form (because it’s about form, I don’t contest your contents, or those of Akercocke... if you want to talk about contents, go read comments 54-55-56 on the review of Attera Totus Sanctus written by Hell), read my review of the promo by HomSelvareg, or the compilation by Kristallnacht.

Pomposity and self-serving review style, with various flaws here and there that reveal the desire to create a grandiloquent piece even beyond the limits of the reviewer's knowledge. A group with a good sound impact, but nothing exceptional.

Constructs that challenge the fantagrammar, overlapping phrases, missing subjects, words used inappropriately. The ideas are there, but get a grip, you’ve written things that mean nothing.
Deathspell Omega Fas - Ite, Maledicti, in Ignem Aeternum

I say this is one of the last frontiers of extreme music. Listening to it is like being thrown into the void, truly. I intended to review it, but I lacked the words. I don’t agree with the concept of nothingness as the end of this album, but otherwise, good review. One small note: the best translation of the title is "By divine command - Go, damned ones, into the eternal fire," and I want to emphasize that Aspa does not sing in growl.
Deathspell Omega Si Monvmentvm Reqvires, Circvmspice
Voto:
Let's start by saying that religious black metal is not a musical genre, but an ideology: saying that the album is influenced by religious themes doesn’t explain anything about its sound, unlike when discussing avant-garde. And let’s also say that Aspa's singing is absolutely not classifiable as growl; rather, it is articulated in every way like a scream, but has a somewhat lower result, although not by much. As for the rest, it's a good analysis, although I would have mentioned Odium Nostrum and Jubilate Deo, which seem to best represent the album and its ritualistic and darkly celebratory atmospheres. In case anyone is interested, the title of the album constitutes a curious, macabre game. The translation is "if you seek the monument, look around," paraphrasing the epitaph of Wren in St. Paul's Cathedral, London.
Dark Funeral Attera Totus Sanctus
Voto:
The dark funerals, the blacksters, are nothing but empty exteriority; the product of a superficial assimilation of an idea that cannot be understood (therefore the only possible assimilation), but only experienced and lived. Remember that certain music is merely the consequence of an incomparably vast vision that lies behind the mind of its creator. Remember that not everyone will be able to understand the vision in itself, but only those who live that same passion that generated it. However, everyone, without exception, will be able to perceive the CHARISMA that passion grants to the one who consumes it. In the same way, anyone can choose to close their eyes to this charisma (the only one, in my opinion, that is the indisputable title of true AUTHORITY), call its possessor mad, even suppress it, in an act that testifies to the mediocrity of the masses, unable to comprehend how little a man matters in comparison to the IDEA he has lived, to the PASSION that has possessed him.
