As for the album, I believe there are things that have gone almost unnoticed. In Andvari, a track that no one mentions, the string arrangement is one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard in my life. It's built on a melodic line of great complexity that continuously breaks off and then starts again, with the strings creating an astonishing crescendo, not to mention a sweet and endless finale that lasts two and a half minutes and seems almost reluctant to let us go. It feels like the soundtrack of a desperate long farewell. If this is easy and trivial...

All opinions are respectable, but the idea that EMI has made the work of SR more commercial makes me smile. Try playing Takk at a dinner with 30 people. After a few minutes, everyone will insult you, asking you to turn off that boring and sad music. Try putting Takk on in the background at the office (I’ve tried it), and after a few minutes, your colleagues will tell you to get rid of that heavy stuff. In these contexts, Manu Chao or 70's disco works much better. For me, commercial means something entirely different. I don’t believe a single Blue fan will listen to SR from now on just because they find Takk beautiful and catchy. I don’t think Takk will sell a single extra copy compared to the other albums just because it's easier and lighter. The story about the label changing the songs in this case, in my opinion, doesn’t hold up. I also disagree about the sound of the album; I have an original copy, bought in any store, a good quality Hi-Fi system as I think many of you do, and the record sounds great. Of course, if you listen to it on Chicco speakers, it’s much worse.

Absolutely one of the most beautiful albums of the year. But it takes a while to understand it. It's very close to being a masterpiece.

Thank you so much. It's not my doing. It's a great album.

Dear S4doll, I agree that the album resembles Adore at certain moments and is nonetheless less melodic. Regarding the lyrics, this need to ask for forgiveness for past sins, rather than disturbing me, intrigues me; it seems like the story of a serial killer who wants to be arrested while continuing to massacre someone here and there. I don’t feel qualified to judge someone’s spirituality; I am quite cold on this subject. And you know, everything changes. If you decide to put it away, it will be your right decision because in music, what matters is only what you feel, not the judgment of others. Can you believe that there’s even someone who claims that KID A by Radiohead is a bad album? Just think about that. Always think with your head and your heart. Anyway, thanks for your attention and the conversation.

A few months later, I still enjoy the CD and it doesn't bore me. I confirm my judgment by rereading the review after all this time. I truly believe it is a remarkable album. Time goes by, and the feelings remain unchanged.

Holy God! I read things that make my skin crawl!! The finished, banal, and boring Radiohead!? Is OK Computer marking their end!? Or is it just a game to shout the most outrageous statements possible? Have you not realized that KID A redefined the history of music? That from that day everything has changed? New sounds, new instruments, new interpretations, new ways of writing, new arrangements, new suggestions? That everyone has tried to start from there, to measure up? A comet has passed right in front of you, and you didn’t even notice! You witnessed the coming of the Messiah and thought it was Bobby Solo! I hear the word "masterpiece" being thrown around wildly with every decent album that comes out, hordes of fake alternatives tearing their hair out over every little thing. I prefer to call things by their right name, and this is truly a masterpiece. We’ll talk about it again in 30 years when this album is on the same shelves that today welcome the greatest in history. I’ll spare you, by the way, all that came after (Amnesiac and HTTT) because I’m afraid to know what you think about them. But that's alright, go to the beach and listen to Biagio Antonacci’s latest masterpiece.
