In my opinion, the best one is So Far. But this one holds its own as well.

I haven't heard the album, but the cloned cover is stunning.

a so-so record...
some tracks are really remarkable, but
given such a cover and all the legend surrounding them, I expected a bit more than just some honest garage rock (even though it features that nice sound of the electric jug).
Maybe it’s because in '66 there were people like the Velvet, who, without putting the word "psychedelic" in the title, were definitely creating some acid chaos...
I agree with a 5 for its historical value.

I agree with the megalithic sound, even though I haven't managed to love this record yet... maybe it's due to the massive presence of blues remnants. I've heard that the second album is even better...

Thank you psychopompe; for me, along with Live-Dead by the Grateful Dead, it's among the best acid rock albums I've ever heard. Oh, and here's another acid-psychedelic thing I miss: the Mad River (was that their name?) mumble mumble.
And you, oh anonymous, don't even have the courage to sign such a banal observation?

I don’t have the one from ‘96. I have the first one from ’73, without keyboards, even more minimal and obsessive. I was a bit disappointed by the second one, Neu! 2, because the original tracks are 3 or 4, simply repeated multiple times at different speeds to fill the entire capacity of the LP. I understood that was experimentation too, but still...

First of all, thanks to the publishers for releasing the corrected version, even though I've noticed that there are still a few typos here and there.
