zigghio! do you think it's so outrageous to raise issues without providing solutions? my point of view is essentially that of a music listener, with a taste (whether good or bad) that is fairly defined. there's a long way from that to telling you how an album should be. we should meet one evening in front of a nice bottle of wine...
well... let's say that perhaps a somewhat less overt use of certain metaphors might have made a better impression (after all, sartre had already tackled the subject of walls). or perhaps focusing more on the evocative power of the instrumental pieces.

I NEVER said I wrote a bunch of nonsense. This is a movie you made up.

Perhaps between Sartre's wall and Waters' wall, it's not just the means of expression that changes. I believe there's a few good centimeters of intellectual thickness that make the difference...

Hi Alex! No, I didn't break, actually. I thought I had replied to you, more or less concisely. I also commented on the review...

Cool! Oh zigghio, now you're asking me to create a rock opera just like that! I think it's just as unfair of you to request this from an honest pseudo-reviewer who's frying their brain trying to keep up with all the responses... What should I do, list all the works that have expressed themes like anguish, discomfort, and incomprehensibility in a more convincing way (in my opinion)? One for all: "Heroes" by David Bowie (did you want "The Wall"?)

In fact, k! I'm starting to feel that typical sense of well-being from doing a good deed... after all, I've made some nice moments for quite a few people, haven't I?

I don't know this musician, and I think that right now I could never appreciate an album solely featuring acoustic guitar. I think you and I have two decidedly different conceptions of expressiveness. Since you asked me to take a look at this review, I can tell you that it seems very passionate to me, even though it may not entice those who feel distant from the genre.
You wanted my opinion, right? I'm waiting for yours on Outside or on something else I've written (besides The Wall, of course ;-)).

but zigghio! it’s you who brought up Sartre!!!
at least I remember the bullshit I say and I take responsibility for it!!!

again in partial response to hal (and to El Guevo):
I just can't stand this adolescent depression vibe (seen though the eyes of a wealthy forty-something); it feels a bit far from the great themes of the 20th century… so I much prefer Joy Division. The reference to Barret is a few dozen posts above…

Agreed on the quotes from Zappa and Beefheart. I have the live album from Magma in '75: the music is quite beautiful (even if the Gong win on creativity), while that invented language I found unbearable...
