Caught a quote! from "Here it is" <<If it were the Seine, it would be très charmant but this is just rain soaking the city!>> cf with Sparks, "Thank God It's Not Christmas" <<If this were the Seine We'd be very suave But it's just the rain Washing down the boulevard >>

great review.. too bad it doesn’t include traces of the continuous cinematic references that the sound of the album is woven with... (The Conversation by F.F. Coppola, THX1138 by G. Lucas, "Klute" by A.J. Pakula, Peeping Tom by M. Powell etc...)
Clock Dva Advantage

Dear Ege, I bought Advantage in 1992, reissued by the glorious (and never too lamented) Contempo Records. After that, I don't think it was ever reissued again...

The album that introduced me to them and to which I’m most attached is Moonhead, I should definitely give it another listen. The review isn’t that bad; if nothing else, it’s passionate and heartfelt.

For me, her golden period remains from the mid-60s until the singles with Battisti, when she was studying and exploring her enormous capabilities. After that, she became a bit too complacent with her mannerisms and with songs that were not always up to par. I find her 80s and 90s frankly unbearable, as well as her interpretations in English. On a desert island, in addition to the live album from 1968 Mina Dal Vivo Alla Bussola, I would also bring various singles: among all, SONO COME TU MI VUOI, LA MUSICA E' FINITA, MI SEI SCOPPIATO DENTRO IL CUORE...
Rita Lee Aqui, ali, em qualquer lugar

Wow. I mentioned CODA as an example of an album generally regarded as a minor episode within a band's discography, and I don't doubt your musical knowledge at all, but reading this review, it seems like Rita Lee has this record and not much else. A bit of historical context would have been more appropriate. Anyway, if you don't want the usual "clueless" people commenting on your reviews, you've chosen the wrong place!

More than useless, it seems like a review that completely ignores the artist's past being examined. I won’t comment on the album in question (I don’t know it), but I would like to ask the reviewer if they are familiar with the albums of the Brazilian group (of which Lee was a part) Os Mutantes. One cannot talk about Brazilian sounds applied to the repertoire of the Beatles without some mention of the tropicalist movement and the albums of the Mutantes straddling the 60s and 70s: it would be a bit like saying that CODA by Led Zeppelin sucks and that's it, without saying anything about the band's history...

Well done, Jodo! It was a nice void to fill! I really liked your take on the English music scene of the early '70s and consequently the proper placement of Roxy Music more in the prog realm (or rather... how prog should have been...) than in the glam scene. It's a shame that the music of this great album has been somewhat overshadowed.

Wow. What a beautiful review!

the album is splendid, the review is a bit too brief, as well as not evocative enough compared to the overwhelming power of the material it addresses... a bit more effort, come on!
