I lived through the same years of vain and gloomy contestation against everything and everyone, including Vasco, with his junkie rebel air made of "piada and lambrusco." When “ar gabbio” ended, so many of my friends stood under his cell in the Pesaro prison shouting “Vasco libero!”, all except me! I smoked the impossible too, but I couldn’t stand those who clouded their brains with smoke and other substances, and back then, those who did this were recognized as Vasco Rossi fans. Imagine how I felt about Vasco at 18, and then how I could possibly feel for Ligabue at 25! If one got on my nerves, the other was just insufferable, with that Padanian Springsteen vibe embracing his guitar and making an entire stadium sing about the life of a midfielder, but blessed Britney Spears! At least she’s hot (even if Liga isn’t bad looking), and she evolves over time (though always under mediocrity) while these two have been repeating the same song for 20 years, one and 10 the other.

It’s been a week since this CD has been endlessly playing in my worn-out player (the one in the car), it’s beautiful. At first, I was a bit puzzled because nothing original comes out of these notes, but then the almost bucolic company, just listen to the intro, is remarkable for what this record does to you while you’re driving. Carefree, laid-back in its sounds, but it flows smoothly like sipping a granita in summer. The references you make, dear namesake, are all right, and I also see in certain arrangements echoes of Cobain’s voice (but only in some moments). A very pleasant album, one to have for lazy companionship.

I also expected something "brutal" from the name of the group, but after reading the reviews, the comments, and especially the cross recommendations that came in, I was prompted to dedicate part of today to searching for the cidì. Great Hal, always on time.

The album is A-MA-ZING, really beautiful, and those sounds, those atmospheres are so vintage, they're stunning. Just imagine them played on vinyl (which I found), warm and just the right amount of crackle... absolutely out of time! Definitely my album of the month too.

I just read your review now, amidst the deluge of how many come in every day, even one of yours might slip past me, sorry. Beautiful, timely, precise, but you can do better; I agree that here you’re at 30% of your potential. You on de-b are like Maradona in the San Paolo of Naples, those who read you are never satisfied :o)

Vana, I always read your posts with great pleasure, in fact sometimes I go looking for them because they are usually interesting, but let me tell you that in these last (5 or 10, I don't know) I've wasted my time and a little bit of the great respect I had. You had to defend yourself, but to persist like that... "don’t pay attention to them..."

Sure, Kurt, if they sold you the Duran as a proto-b-band, then they must have explained to you that the importance of the Beatles was, anthropologically speaking, to have laid the groundwork for there to be Take That one day! I believe you might be missing some pre-Nirvana musical information, I think.

I confess, Your Honor, at the time I was listening to Simple Minds and Depeche Mode, and at most Human League and Heaven 17, but never ever Duran or Spandau whom I hated with all my might!
