Foschicciù, I too should (I’m using the conditional as required for the past years) have the two original LPs, white and blue. You know that every disappointment you give me is a blow to the heart :-) so the "gentleman" of central Italy is satisfied.

For me, this is a great album, Jack keeps going, with many acoustic parts, sprinkled here and there with deep guitar riffs. Of course, she sounds quite sad when she plays, not to mention when she sings! It's not fair to dismiss an album just because it's from a well-known band if the album proves to be interesting, but it's a hard prejudice to shake off among the debaser crowd, I understand.

I didn’t like the single at first, then I got the album, listened to it three times in a row and still didn’t like it. By the fourth round, I started to deconstruct it: metronomic drums that I don't like, melodic sounds sometimes dissonant, sometimes mature, and I’m suspended. The arrangements are meticulously crafted (there’s even a "somebody" named B.Eno) and the beautiful vocals always take center stage, which I like. I had read that they completely reworked everything to put Chris Martin's voice at the forefront; well, objectively, if that was the intent, they hit the nail on the head. The rest, however, needs to be listened to slowly and dissected, because at first listen it offers nothing. I would call it a mature album, not too geared towards the charts, but lacking those shocking melodies that made Coldplay famous... aside from the ghost track, which remains one of the best moments, even though it’s predictable.

Beautiful, clean, and smooth this review is, it's a pity that I don't think much of the album; after all, you mention "Aguaplano," which for me is a true masterpiece, the album that made me discover and love the lawyer in times (for me) unsuspected.

You're absolutely right, Gabri, it's truly a beautiful oasis here.

The album has to be one of those I like, I’ll go buy it, and then maybe you’ll reimburse me. Always precise and punctual, in reimbursements and in reviews.

Foschicciuzza nooo, I can't believe it! "Sons And Fascination... oh my, what a powerful CD..." but how can it be a CD? It was a record! It was born as a record... ellepì! If you like to evoke the memories of those years, you’ll also remember that back then, Sons And Fascination was scratchy!!! I would have never expected such a betrayal from you, Foschicciù!

For example, I have judged the current moment of the Coldplay as a repetition, a déjà vu of their style; in short, no progress on the horizon. I've only heard the single, which has thoroughly disappointed me. To be more precise, I will wait for the album release and the concert in Verona, but I repeat, my expectations are low.
As for the phrase about '77 and the filthy punks, perhaps among those who commented, there is a lack of historical perspective. I believe that good Antonio didn't wish for a nice series of Libertines & co. (who, to be honest, are a bit dull), but rather hoped for the advent of something truly innovative and disruptive, like punk (the original) was at its time, and right now I think many of us feel the need for that.
