I’m part of that good 40%, but I didn’t accompany kids to Urbino, maybe there, but honestly that would be a very (very) strange "father-daughter" relationship.
Great concert, not unforgettable though, especially for the numerous fluffs that good Mascis had.
Sure, you could have made an effort to come to Urbino, there were about fifteen of us and many in deshirt or maybe you saw us and felt embarrassed by our drunken state? Well done!
Anyway, with 15 of us, not being able to write a review of the meeting is almost shameful, but were you there the other two days?

True masters, Simple with this album.
Krisma The Best Of (Nuove Incisioni)

I should also have a Krisma album among my shelves, the one with Fritz Cavallo (not exactly the best), just a note for the detractors to notice the nickname! The Krisma are still active; I happened to see them on MTV or around that area, now they do gigs, DJ sets, and have a satellite TV channel, but I don't know what the hell it's called.

I hope that Fiorello's show at the Arena di Verona scheduled for early September gets replaced... but with the luck I have, they'll replace it with an extra night of Festivalbar!

Hi Li, nice review but these discussions about yes or no to power metal are such a drag!!! Change genre, the meeting should have given you some new ideas.
Litfiba Desaparecido

"War" the original 45 RPM is now worth well over 100 euros, I repeat... over!
"17 kings" in my opinion is the summation of the first path of the Litfiba, a double album, quite mature, still with some arrangements to revise but it was the closure of the first cycle of their life. Then Pierelli and the differing visions between the various members of the band about what the Litfiba should be led to the preponderance of the Renzulli/Pierelli line, and for me the Litfiba personally lost interest, while gaining a lot in visibility. I won’t deny that there were some beautiful songs, but it was the mood that no longer interested me.

My album from recent years, oh how many times I've listened to it and re-listened again! The entire series of "American Recordings" is fantastic, but this one is a notch above.
Litfiba Desaparecido

The first record by Litfiba is the 7-inch single of "Guerra," an elusive piece for collectors. Then there's the participation in "catalugue d'issue" (?) compilation alongside the entire Florentine scene of those years, which only comes after "Eneide," the soundtrack for a theatrical performance, and then the EP "yassassin," a cover of Bowie, if I'm not mistaken. Only after that comes "Desaparecido." I have chronological doubts about the FIRST publication of "Transea," whether it came before or after "Desaparecido," which is considered their first LP precisely because the others were EPs, singles, and soundtracks. I'm going from memory, so I might have gotten something wrong; if so, I apologize.
Listening to "Desaparecido" today reveals a qualitatively low recording level and incomplete arrangements, but for me, and it seems for others as well, it remains a cornerstone of Italian rock in the '80s for having successfully reintroduced, with great ideas, stylistic elements of the English rock of the time, mixed with Mediterranean tradition. Other bands at the time were playing "in English," often even better (Neon, Gaznevada, Diaframma...), but they were the first to combine south and north in a new rock sound, essential! (Oh dear, I was quite a fan back then, so perhaps not entirely neutral in my judgment.)

It wasn't just on the beloved island; this year it was also at the Roman theater of Verona, but my budget choice led me to opt for Bollani "solo." Did I make a mistake? ...maybe not because Bollani alone at the piano was incredibly entertaining. Joy the music!
