This CD by the "Consorzio Suonatori Indipendenti" was recorded during the "Acoustica" program on VideoMusic in 1994. 11 long, unique pieces, lengthy and poignant. Characterized by a gothic soft rock, a sort of esoteric classic-folk that makes them incredibly light and catchy, yet deep nonetheless.
Giovanni Lindo Ferretti sits, his back to the audience, while the whole group faces him, as if he were the conductor of an experimental orchestra. And indeed, the mix of genres emerging from the ashes of CCCP seems like pure alternative and gothic experimentation.
Characterized by a poignant and pronounced piano, G.L. Ferretti moves us with "In Viaggio": "... losers travel, more suited to changes..."
For Ferretti, music must overpower everything; the particular monotonous vocal choice, as demonstrated in "Inquieto", is purposely selected to dedicate as much space as possible to this restless, sweet, gothic, and sometimes unsettling sound. Far from the Punk of CCCP, CSI dedicates themselves to something truly wonderful. For them, sound is an art far beyond the ability to review it; it goes beyond the normal wall of a stereo, beyond an acoustic approach. Music, for them, is absolute; it is everything that revolves around the world, and around which the world revolves. Music, of any genre or origin, is pure desire, pure sensation, something that goes far beyond listening; it is a sort of audio-vocal orgasm, to be dedicated to anyone who loves it. Music is, for G.L. Ferretti, a lover, capricious, elusive, spoiled, benevolent, cruel, and beautiful.
It is fierce, a wild beast ready to tear you apart with its sound jaws, something untamable that takes you where only it wants, something that pushes you to be what you are. Music is memory, strength, thought, words; music is absolute art; it is completeness in the fingers, in the eyes, in the voice of the artist.
The CSI scream it to us, softly and loudly with "In Quiete", dust off this album, and pump it to the max, place yourself at the center of your audio-room, lie on the floor, or stand, or move, but let yourself be pervaded, possessed, loved by this violent-calm-passionate-hateful-incredible sound. And tell me if it doesn't force you to dream.
And if for a moment your heart leaps, if the veins that pump it, if those arteries for a moment, jump, and you slightly reach grace...

There is a deep calmness in this album, but not relaxation (as Ferretti himself writes).
