Boohoos Here Comes The Hoo (1986-87)

Good times and beautiful music, I met Fuss at Insomnia in Cattolica and suggested doing a concert at Gratis in Senigallia, what a live show! When they played, half of the Italian wave scene showed up to see them, among the audience were Neon, Scisma, Weimar Gesang and a lot of people!

What a wave of nostalgia, Foskicciùzza! I went to put the mix of "my blues is you" back on the turntable... wow, this music is so dated! I remember them in Senigallia as spectators at a Boohoos concert, those were the days!

The review feels very much like a "press release" reworked, but that doesn't take away from the fact that this is a really great r'n'b album, far superior to others currently available; then again, one has to like the genre... but that's another story!
Lucio Dalla Com'è profondo il mare
Voto:
It's not true that Dalla hasn't done anything good for twenty years, even though it's true that his creative peak was reached with the albums everyone cites and that he has been inconsistent lately. However, his latest album of new material, "Angoli di cielo," is musically quite good; in fact, I'd say it's worth a listen, although it pales in comparison to "Dalla" or the one being reviewed. Anyway, the greatness of Lucio Dalla, in comparison to other giants of Italian song, lay in his musicality and arrangements, just as the value of a De André was found in lyrics that are universally considered poetry.

Lucio Dalla in 1980 was the first concert I attended alone, and since then I saw him three more times and attended countless other concerts, maybe 1000 or even more! Goodbye Lucio, for me you were the beginning of my great love for music...
Etta James At Last
Voto:
R.I.P. Etta, go back to singing among your great friends in the celestial firmament of music. Her most recent and also final album "The Dreamer," released a couple of months ago, is very beautiful, and her voice comes through just a bit darker but still stunning, even though she was already weakened by the leukemia that has now overcome her.

Unfortunately discovered only today, but already in heavy rotation on my stereo, fantastic album! And great review!

Perhaps I'm the only one here who has read the book in question cover to cover, because it seems to me that your review barely discusses the book itself but focuses mainly on its author, summarizing, among other things, what is mentioned about him on the news. The book is not bad, but I don't agree with many of its points; after all, I don't vote and I certainly wouldn't vote for the left. As for the character, I express some reservations because he seems to be severely afflicted by "beautiful and losing Veltronism," while I do share his strong idea of "renovation." To all those (young people) who criticize him, I remind them that they are merely amplifying the words of the elderly hierarchs of the Left (Bindi-D'Alema-Bersani-Vendola-Di Pietro) who certainly don’t want to give up their jobs, privileges, upcoming generous pensions, and positions (which they still don't have), because politics is a well-paid job serving those who do it, and not certainly serving the country! Lastly, look at Monti's Government: made up of older people more than Berlusconi's was... in this regard, RENZI IS ABSOLUTELY RIGHT, let's get rid of them ALL! Not that an older person can't do good politics, but they tend to be much more conservative and corporative than a young person.
John Scofield Plays The Music Of Ray Charles - That's What I Say

A great record and I'm listening to it now. Your review gave me the urge to buy it "blind", after all, John Scofield playing Ray Charles... well, it's hard to be disappointed!
