Kidman is hot. Okay, Hal, I’ll let you have that one. But be careful: never refer to Ligeti, who I don’t even like, as a classical music composer, never. Of course, there’s a necessary differentiation between Shostakovich and the classical composers, but it’s a venial sin to consider Shostakovich in the mix, because he is the root, just like Dvorak, Smetana, and Gershwin, who for one reason or another are connected to classical music while partially distancing themselves from it.
