Sergei Rachmaninoff Concerto per pianoforte n° 3 in re minore

Well, you’re only speaking out of a rejection of common understanding: you’re being generalizing, and you limit this film to an "acting showcase," which I don't really agree with. Otherwise, we would consider "The House of the Spirits" a great film just because it has Irons, Streep, and Close. Bah.

In the meantime, let me tell you why it's a good film. Yes, the whole story is romanticized, with that American flair for emphasis that has often ruined good intentions of equally good U.S. directors, but in the end, it is honest and remarkably well-structured, splendidly acted by a Rush who truly plays the piano in the film, and a ever-reliable Muller-Stahl in the role of the domineering father. It suffers from somewhat questionable anxieties in the finale, but the entire magnificent first part, steeped in the "boredom of household objects," is a classic, just as the portrayal of a grotesque environment dominated by a piano, which, in a crude application of the third principle of dynamics, lives off the violent reaction to an increasingly forceful impression of "ecstatic force" from a young Helfgott, and the struggle between the animated and the inanimate, man and piano, where the object comes to life through music and overcomes the animated, is remarkable. I've said something, without beguiling little eyes.

No, sorry, you explain the reason why it's mediocre.

Never questioned the questionable discussability of your tastes, Odra!

I actually had some doubts about it too... anyway Josi_, lately you've been neglecting me, maybe it's because after you guys pulled a fast one on Toni, you go off to hang out with your night shift friends, whatever, let's not ruin this beautiful mess of comments.

But of course, Josuccio, it's me who got involved with a few of my little acquaintances, you were the very first! You inaugurated the classical, I the lyrical, Odradek the hasty opinions on films. Perfect!

But then who cares, better some certainty from the Nek and the Dirisio that taste of nothing... I'll stop here, I've finished enjoying.

Ah, I almost forgot: Battiato is ugly. Deadly ugly. He's one of those who improved over time because even as a young man it was clear he couldn't get any worse, and if anyone thinks I'm making this up, feel free to contact me privately: I have a stunningly rare video from RAI dating back to the "Meccanica" clip from '71 directly from the album Fetus... there's truly no end to how bad it can get.

Beautiful tribute to Endrigo, I remember him fondly, I hope he will soon be remembered here on De-B as well.
