Clint Eastwood Cry Macho
Voto:
I haven't seen it, but I have the impression that you have perfectly grasped the issue, which is the fact that necessarily in Eastwood's recent works, where he also acts, one cannot help but evaluate the actor beyond the character, as the man Clint is profoundly bound to the weight of the advancing years and thus touching, no matter how "limited" he may be physiologically, and a questionable or unclear directorial choice can be gleaned in more than one circumstance. I haven't seen this latest one, but I had already sensed the physiological tendency since the days of "Gran Torino" (which for me remains an absolutely high-level film): a great old man is on his Sunset Boulevard, and in accompanying him on this journey, one cannot help but appreciate the effort before the result.
Carlo Emilio Gadda Quer pasticciaccio brutto de Via Merulana
Voto:
On the usual route from Fiumicino to the center of Rome, one always finds oneself on the damned Via Merulana, entering from San Giovanni in Laterano, and each time it marks the passage of the Roman pillars of Hercules, beyond which one plunges into the Malebolge of the city amidst traffic jams, endless construction work, and parades of all kinds. Is this the deterrent that hinders me from starting to read Pasticciaccio? I don’t think so: in my opinion, it’s just the usual laziness. The Palazzo degli Ori is always there, proudly beautiful as one looks at it from the car window in the first of many Roman traffic jams searching for an escape route.

Less fleeting than usual this time, Lulù, and for me this is a good thing! Plus, I can follow the proposal, as any potential epigones of Lisa should always be listened to carefully. But be careful, if you've exaggerated with the comparison, I'll come to pick you up outside your house. Let's see: I'll let you know.

But look... the passion for this gentleman had just been hinted at in a cryptic way by your recent listens, with which you had a bit of a resounding impact on our scrotal sack (said with affection). Anyway, it's true that Che smoked, but you smoked a "Che" during that period when you talk about the origins dating back to Gavinana. And don’t let yourself be fooled by the amalgam, which prefers the masculine. Hello, stud.
Bomfunk MC's In Stereo

Yes, I confess that I have sinned too. When driven by the curiosity sparked by the excellent opener, I listened to the whole "In Stereo" a couple of times before tossing it into the toilet of shabby memories. Compared to the booming Freestyler, there’s no doubt that the rest of the album was a huge disappointment, but I was young and caught up in folliculitis, so I had other things on my mind: the life-size poster of Anna Falchi in the latest issue of Max, just to give an example. I’m sure the reviewer still keeps it somewhere, along with this piece of junk record.

I have already stated my position above: I'm just stopping by to give you five standard kopecks for the usual timely review.

So you're saying that if I go for a walk at the Belvedere in Syracuse, Erlend will pop up while he’s shoving an arancino down his throat at Bar Ciccio? I can't believe it... now that's news. I'll read the rest during my bathroom break.
Georges Brassens Les passantes

There’s this underlying Manichaeism in your hermeneutics that, by fanning the flames in praising Faber (and in turn the songwriters connected to him), reaps the furious storm from those like me who assert that a De Gregori is very welcome to stir the Genoese from the quicksand of his opaque Dylanism. But I’m digressing: all in all, you’re doing quite well, I must say.
Wes Anderson The French Dispatch

Alright, give me time to see it. Anyway, I also stand with the enthusiasts of The Grand Budapest Hotel, which I believe is one of Wes's best works in terms of balancing the grotesque and dark comedy.

Precious writing for a record that I gladly keep my distance from.
