Unquestionable value. But rest assured that those who haven't listened to him and only know the name Sorrenti would be tempted to post with the bare minimum. Ajè, you're the same old miser ;P

Even Aristarco, Antmo, open! I didn't expect this excitement, it's awesome! At least there's still someone here on debaser who really knows Italian music... with the idiots that are around, you can always expect some fool to come in and give the album a 1, knowing only the later Sorrenti, who knows!

Trudyno, you here too, huh! Great Lewis, we needed a tribute to this album and to this Alan. An incredible album when compared to what we know of ours, a visionary journey between free jazz and unmatched progressive. The reference you make to the "many" who have likened Sorrenti to VDGG is probably directed at the ondarock folks (I believe it’s the same one who also wrote about Scaruffi): indeed, his reasoning does hold some weight if we consider the collaboration in the subsequent "Incensiere" with Jackson, flautist of Van der Graaf. I just have one critique: he sings a bit too much, and at times he skirts the edge of a petulant litany. He doesn’t have the range of Stratos Sorrenti, resulting in a less varied output. But it's a milestone nonetheless; there’s no compromise on that.

I didn't say that the two gentlemen were inspired by who-knows-what; I said it's "in the same vein," it's akin to things already heard. It seems very relatable, just to put it this way, to the monumental ambient music by Eno in the '80s. I ask you and myself: does sound as an aesthetic element transcend to form? Or to content? Is it the frame or the painting? In my opinion, it's more of a frame, and that's why I would read it as an example of ambient music. Anyway, you know what I'm telling you? Those little electro-digital drops are a small necrophilic enchantment. And they deserve a good rating, upon re-listening.

Damn, very interesting. I don't know Byrne well, but I'll keep him in mind for a possible future check. Just to mention, what did you think of Gilgamesh by Franco? I found it pretty ugly; I would have gladly given it some thought! ;P

...what a joke, indeed. We don't lack for anything. But the highlight is "Troia," a city renamed by Emanuele Filiberto during his visit to the Enna area a few months ago. "I’m very happy with this trip, I’ve seen Troia and Piazza Armenia." They should be "Troina" and "Piazza Armerina." Noblesse oblige.

Oh, if you want, even closer to my home there's the variant Cacchiamo, borrowed out of envy from the more famous Caccamo. The sambuca, whose name comes from the plant, has ancient origins that seem unrelated to the little town of Girgenti. On the other hand, near Pistoia there’s another Sambuca, as proof: no relationship.
