Yes, but you're talking about it as if it were a disaster, come on... Even comparable to the big mess of Tresseghe! :) Well, this downgrade of yours is fine, I think it's an overall adequate album.

"since music has practically ended with the Romantics and at most with a few epigones of Romanticism," George spoke about music itself, not specifically classical music, huh, Josie? And anyway, even if he meant to implicitly refer only to that, it still works to my advantage: he also forgot about opera, so :)

Eh, but here I play the sycophant and trick you: I can't pretend to have the knowledge about classical music that you or Grasshopper have, and to a lesser extent, Josip. So it’s absurd that I should cover such a gap when I know so little. Come on, the lyric is being mistreated, come on. Just look at the number of knowledgeable people who commented on the Butterfly compared to those who comment and will comment on Chopin.

Okay, Hal, we get that you're in a peaceful phase :D But answer me this: why has no one on this page thought to quote half an opera? Come on, now I want to see :)

...ah, and I've never really liked Nico's trembling voice.

Of this page, I quote: the curious yet not inaccurate thesis of house 4/4 embraced by Jojeje_, the understandable downscaling of the work by Mandragola, the nonsense of Jim Morrison.

Uff, still with this story about the shortcomings of "Human After All": in my opinion, you’re exaggerating. Setting aside the fact that in many other areas the quality of the album has been acknowledged (now I am far from endorsing the views of Ondarock and the like, but one certainly cannot be indifferent to such a large number of admirers), and likewise the fact that it is definitely not an exceptional album, I reiterate that in some cases the solutions are happy, and in my opinion even better than those tacky ones in Discovery. Therefore, I think there’s a bit too much fervor against it. Anyway, I heard "Musique," it's nice.

Ahahah, johnny_, I knew you would bring up that old debate! :D But you know very well that this is a different matter: I clearly stated that it’s a "gut" judgment regarding my personal tastes and subject to criticism, while in that case you made a judgment about the person that is absolutely debatable (not to mention worse :D). Regarding the post-romanticism issue, what can I say, I completely disagree. I don’t understand why you get entangled in Brahms and company; it's the usual story: nobody pays attention to the operists, it's really incredible. This "silence" only reinforces that thesis so strongly opposed by Hal in our debate over the comments on the Butterfly: as I maintain, there exists a culture of "theater music" where people go to the theater for the performance, but not a culture of opera in general, so in the end we hardly consider the operists in the discussions about music. Verdi, Puccini, Wagner, Bellini, who, more or less, certainly were post-romantic, were excellent musicians. And let’s talk about Shostakovich. Well.

Can I, just this once, give a very subjective and off-the-wall gut reaction? Chopin, especially in the nocturnes, gets on my nerves. Instead, Pollini, in my opinion, is beyond discussion.
