Assalti Frontali Mi Sa Che Stanotte...

With tomato, with tomato. I've never understood this nonsense about "nonsidevecoprireilsapordimare." What does it even mean? Why can cheese go in a pork ragù, which is super tasty and suits even the happiest palates, but not on a tarantina? Why is meat okay but fish is not? What’s the reason we have to put up with this intransigence? Then, tomato (maybe the cherry tomato, which they put on everything now) sweetens things up, pairs well, and I assure you that mussel soup with tomato is a delight. So, I vote for tomato all my life. And enough with this idolization of fish. Fish STINKS. Just eat the angus.
Michael Nyman The Piano

Uhm, I have a déjà vu... :) Yes, regarding the album, I’ve mediated the various opinions and I would say that in the end, Nyman's definition of "post-minimalism" makes sense, once you’ve listened to Riley. This "post" should be understood as a continuation of minimalism for me, not a break. But the discussion can pick up from there, eheh :) About the film, little to object: Krys did well to mention it in this review – better than mine – doing justice to an essential marriage between music and images. The scene where "The Promise" erupts in all its beauty is of incredible emotional impact: the dance of the little girl to the notes of a woman who has regained her passion through music. And the treble clef on the sand.

According to many, this is the best. Cyborg is similar: it's the second and is equally celebrated, cosmic music with few electronic sequences. After these two, there’s a turning point: Schulze starts using sequencers and synths, launching the season of exquisitely electronic cosmic music. I prefer this phase, even if it is less hailed by critics. It is definitely much more pleasant. It starts with "Picture Music," and also at a high level, as far as I know, are "Timewind," "Blackdance," "X," and "Dune." From the '80s, he begins to recycle himself, and to say, his latest work, "Moonlake," is outdated and recycled. Therefore, I recommend works from "Picture Music" to "Dune" of the '70s.

But no, Psycho, challenging I don’t think so, I find the Can and the more difficult Faust much more discouraging. They started the prog season in Germany, the same Ash Ra back in the days of "Malesch" were much more "meditative." Discone.

Here you go. I'll mention a few more that Cope didn't cite: "Canaxis V" by Czukay, "Phaedra" by Tangerine, "Departure from the Northern Wasteland" by Hoenig, "Ralf & Florian" by Kraftwerk, "X", "Timewind" and "Cyborg" by Schulze, "Silence is the answer" by Georg Deuter, "Electrip" by Xhol Caravan.

It crossed my mind... someone could enlighten us, and that’s the American greengrocer. He’s a fascinating figure; I’ve never been to America, but I would go there just to understand what the figures related to rustic life are like. I mean, here the greengrocer says things like: “I Pumaaaa, i piraaaa, i ciraseeee, i vruoccoliiii, i mapuuu!”, he has a little rabbit and a sly demeanor. But in the States? What does he even say? “Aaaaeeeppples, Peeeeiiiirs, cherrrissiii, culiflouaaaa, tengerineeee!” Does he have the little rabbit? And the cap? And the balance? Do Americans even have a balance? Wow, I wonder what the American greengrocer is like.

Uhm, yes and no. In the sense that you expand the discourse on fascinating but improbable aspects; it is true that you speak of impressions, and this is acceptable, but you downplay the fruit itself. Because I like to think that the "tangerine dream" is, paying homage to the aforementioned surrealism, a synesthesia. And Tangeri is indeed relevant, but only to the extent that the fruit comes from there, that's all. And anyway, we are bypassing the Beatles, which I believe is an essential matter, at least in the case of Kaleidoscope: Picture yourself in a boat on a river,/ With tangerine trees and marmalade skies/ Somebody calls you, you answer quite slowly,/ A girl with kaleidoscope eyes.

Exactly, things got tangled and we are not in the clear. We could use some industry magazines. Wikipedia discusses surrealism and the famous meetings between Dalì and Froese in the '60s, but beyond that, the mystery of the reddish mandarin remains.

Reading it again, this is truly the most ridiculous discussion I've had on Debaser.
