I still haven’t listened to anything, I’ll do it in a couple of hours; everyone is telling me pretty much the same thing. If this album really sucks, then it means that my friendship with dulli hasn’t done any good. I don’t know why this thought keeps spinning in my head, but they both seem to be in artistic agony, and I hope for their sake it’s only that. Meanwhile, on Thursday I'm going to see them live in Milan with my American buddy... let’s see if I feel the same way. Lately in Biella (I hear) they couldn’t even stand up, who knows. But damn it, I liked them a lot, as well as The Afghan Whigs, and both of them are falling apart like rotting onions with that sour smell of a dead dog.

Well, maybe three pallet guns are too few; surely Beck is better in black and white than in technicolor. Sea Change is indeed a black-and-white album with the addition of some bluish tones, but "Guero," with its filamentous, fibrous, and thick textures, has a reason for being, although it's a very American reason, perhaps too much so.
