Elliott Smith From A Basement On The Hill

I respect everyone's opinion. However, I still find Either/Or to be an average work. And by the way, I've never seen any Elliott Smith albums on any list or roster (for what they're worth) of ideal records. I understand it can be liked. For example, I like Archive (except the latest) and almost nobody cares. But you also have to acknowledge that death, in cases like this, only leads to overvaluations. The music world is full of overvalued dead artists. Well, I hope I've made myself clear. On Saturday, I'm buying Julian Cope (if I can find him) because he's good and not overvalued.

Tell me it's not true that while he was alive, almost nobody knew of his existence. He was just one of many. Tell me it's not true!

I haven't listened to this album. However, I bought Either/Or post-mortem Smith. I understood why, when he was alive, hardly anyone cared about him. That's more than enough for me.

Nice review. It's all too easy to say good things about the Beatles; on the other hand, speaking ill of them risks crucifixion. You’re right when you say they are both the most underrated and overrated band at the same time. Personally, I like them (and how could it be otherwise) although, for example, I find "Forever Changes" by Love (we're in '67, the same period) superior to any album by the Fab Four. The Beatles deserve credit for lasting about eight years and scattering an infinite amount of hit singles and high-quality albums. Others, like Love, lasted only a moment. However, the social impact they had during that time is undeniable. They are, in any case, unrepeatable.

Beautiful review. Unfortunately, I've never been able to digest the MKs. Maybe it's because I don't even adore the Sonic Youth?

This album has the sole fault of coming after La Voce Del Padrone. Coming after a masterpiece (because La Voce Del Padrone is, from any perspective, a masterpiece) is never easy. And almost always, disappointment is lurking around the corner. In fact, I remember that back then, many were turning their noses up at this album. It's a decent collection of songs. Some are excellent, others a bit less so. If it had been released before LVDP, it would surely have received more acclaim. Instead, it has always lived in the shadow of that previous masterpiece.

A slightly stretched review, but the album, you're right, is immense. An absolute masterpiece. In my opinion, Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me is also a great underrated album.
Pink Floyd A Saucerful Of Secrets

I've never heard the album. I'm not crazy about Pink Floyd. Anyway, you’re only two years older than my daughter, and I would be very happy if my daughter wrote like you in two years and especially listened to this music. Don't take it personally.

I don’t know these at all. The samples are nice, though.

I don't have this album, but after such a review, I’ll have to get it. I had already read good things about it in Mucchio, but to be honest, I’ve hardly ever seen it around.
