Bruce Springsteen Devils & Dust

I bought it more than a month ago, but I can't find the courage to listen to it. It's no laughing matter to listen to an acoustic album by the Boss. You need the right inspiration and the right calm, otherwise after 5 minutes you’ll turn everything off. You can't just listen to an album like that in the car. I'm waiting for it to be cooler; it's too hot right now.

Socrates, have you noticed that this album is in second place among the favorites of the debaseriani? I think it's right and necessary to highlight it.

Damn me and that day I decided to spend €16.90 on this album. Mediocre at best.
Travis The Man Who

Nice review, but I don't like the album; in fact, it's the only one I have by Travis (and that's enough for me). A classic example of the next big thing with a typical British style that, when put to the test, has proven to be a band like many others. Perhaps too many.

I own "Fotografie" on vinyl and it seems to me that it has almost all the songs from the album you reviewed. I've worn that record out. Too bad the version of "Quanti anni hai" isn't the famous one with Antonella Ruggiero, which is instead available on the recently released CD reissue. I remember that back in those years, when I watched Sanremo, I was cheering for him and Zucchero, who regularly fought for the last place. Later, I also bought "Il fiume" (an excellent album) and "1 6 2" (mediocre), after which I lost track of him. Nonetheless, he has always proven to be a consistent person and consequently also a loser, and for this reason, I care for him.

I want to buy something from HL. However, I don't know whether to buy this album or go for a greatest hits. I'm quite attached to the period you describe in the review, but I think a greatest hits might be better.
Simple Minds New Gold Dream

A formidable record that, unfortunately, doesn't find many admirers today. When talking about albums like this, you always hear the same old complaints: ...ugh, the 80s...always plastic sounds...the drums so synth...Maybe there's a grain of truth in that, but anyone who lived through those years cannot help but love New Gold Dream and Sparkle In The Rain. I would take them with me anywhere. And it was 1982. Excellent review.

Have you seen dear Psych that my ear doesn’t deceive me? I've never heard Alone again or made by Belle & Sebastian, but from their records, it’s clear they grew up on bread and Love.

It was the first album by Ultravox that I bought (the remote past is a must here). Despite the critics, and as you rightly point out in your review, I don’t find the second phase of Ultravox, the ones with Midge Ure, so depressing. I also like Rage In Eden. Unfortunately, there are only a few of us who feel this way. And then I spent my twenties with Ultravox, how can I not love them?

The title track and Camouflage are worth the ticket price by themselves. The rest is just a bonus. It's a shame that nothing else has reached this level since then. Another 80s album to pass down to future generations. One last thing: with all the crap out there today, this work is easily worth 5/5.
