Tim Buckley Goodbye And Hello
Voto:
Do you think that if Tim Buckley were still alive, he would enjoy all this esteem? It’s a question I often ask myself regarding deceased artists who are re-evaluated (rightly or wrongly) post-mortem.

Indeed, 100th Window was something of a disappointment. Not that it's a bad album, but many were expecting some sort of breakthrough that never came.
Massive Attack Blue Lines

This is a seminal record that has paved new paths and drawn new horizons. This is why it is considered a pioneer and thus a masterpiece. However, it is true that the subsequent albums will be more complete and more mature. My favorite is "Protection." But the first to set the course were Massive Attack and "Blue Lines." This is undisputable.

I remember that poll too, and indeed Prince played the lion's share. And as you say, Pugliamix, ...a bit too much. Today, I’m not saying that Prince is a forgotten figure, but he has certainly lost much of the charisma and respect he had back then, though we can't forget the great records he delivered at the time. Lasting for decades is a very rare virtue in every field, not just in music. For very few.

Any comment on Socrates' reviews is superfluous. However, Prince does not fall among my favorite artists. In the eighties, Rockstar seemed almost like a fanzine dedicated to the "Minneapolis genius," and the excessive expressions of admiration have always irritated me. I haven't listened to this album; however, I have heard "Sign of the Times" and "Purple Rain," and while I acknowledge our man's overflowing talent, I repeat that my target shifts elsewhere. In recent years, he has let himself be carried away by megalomanias of "Zappaesque" memory. Triple, quadruple albums, etc. etc.

Angel is beautiful, the rest limps quite a bit. The next album is much more complete and mature. Still modest, though.
La Crus Dentro Me
Voto:
Beautiful review and a wonderful album. La Crus is my favorite Italian band. They haven't missed a beat. I also find their latest works fascinating. It's a pity that the market doesn't reward them properly; maybe they should go to Sanremo like Subsonica did. The new CD should (conditional necessary) be released at the beginning of next October and it should (always conditional) be titled "Infinite possibilità." And then Mauro Ermanno has a voice that is unforgettable. With that voice, he can sing whatever he wants. Album ratings: La Crus 7.5 / Dentro me 8 / Dietro la curva del cuore 8.5 / Crocevia 7.5 / Ogni cosa che vedo 8. People, think about it, think!

While zapping through the web, I noticed that this record on Fandango costs €21.29, while on cdbox it’s a whopping €23.24. Talk about a rip-off...

To be completely honest, I haven't listened to this album. And to be completely honest, I don't know if I feel like searching for it and buying it. I really think it's a minor work. I've seen Steve McQueen around in stores for €5.90. Anyone who doesn't own it might want to consider it, although seeing certain masterpieces priced so "low" does make me a bit sad.
