John Cale Music For A New Society
Voto:
You have a particular knack for reviewing elusive records. Anyway, back in 2001 it could still be found. Not anymore. Music and spectral sounds that alone could justify a whole career. Unrepeatable!
Michael Jackson Thriller
Voto:
One can say everything and nothing about this album. Certainly, in its genre, it marked an era and at the same time marked the beginning of the end for Michael Jackson, trapping him in a caricatured persona from which he never escaped.
Pulp This Is Hardcore
Voto:
Great review. The album is beautiful, the title track is stunning. It's true that the album was overlooked back then, and listening to it now, it's hard to understand why. It's very different from the previous Different Class, and in my opinion, even superior, but perhaps this change wasn't well appreciated by the Pulp purists.

You could at least say (if you know) that the copyrights of Bittersweet Symphony were assigned to the award-winning firm Jagger-Richard, due to a sneaky sample, I don’t know if it was intentional or not, included in that song. Justice or injustice, I don’t know, but the fact is that the band no longer exists, partly because of this dispute.
Soul II Soul Volume IV The Classic Singles 88-93

Hi Socrates. I haven't disappeared. Every now and then I check to see what's new, but it seems to me that there are fewer and fewer reviews in "our area." In fact, I'm very busy and have less and less time to dedicate to certain trivialities. But I haven't seen your name in a while either. Everything okay?
Soul II Soul Volume IV The Classic Singles 88-93
Voto:
I have all of Soul II Soul's albums except for this one. They've always declined, but at least the first two albums are absolutely essential. Music for everyone, but never clichéd and of a decidedly uncommon elegance.
Max Gazzè Contro Un'Onda Del Mare
Voto:
Too harsh. It's not a bad album. But it's not great either. And for newcomers, it doesn't say much to draw them to the record. "La Favola di Adamo ed Eva" remains his best work. Lately, he’s definitely losing his touch. One of the many promises of Italian music delivered only in part.
Beth Orton Daybreaker
Voto:
Has anyone heard Beth Orton's new album "Comfort for Strangers"? No one has listened to it? This was a great record. The opener "Paris Train" could be worth an entire career.
