Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers HalfTime Show @XLII Superbowl, Phoenix 03/02/2008

I didn't think you could like "nasal" Tom. Around here, in my humble opinion, he is perhaps a tad overrated. You've never made bad records (maybe Let me Up), but to talk about masterpieces, as I occasionally read, seems excessive to me.

I wanted to make a shallow reflection on the price of CDs. For the umpteenth time, since I've already had the chance to discuss it before. So... 14.90 Euro, when converted, is exactly 28,850 Lire (and not 30,000 Lire). Everyone constantly complains about the price of CDs, quite unjustifiably. Personally, I think that CDs wouldn't sell even if they cost 5 Euro each for various reasons, but two in particular: 1) Music as it was understood 20/30 years ago no longer exists, in the sense that true music enthusiasts and aficionados are and will always be fewer. Translation... young people couldn’t care less about music. 2) You can find everything online without spending anything, and to hell with the artwork of the original item and whether the sound is 100% pure. Therefore, I find it childish and sterile to attribute the music industry's crisis to the price of CDs. Anyone would (and does) spend 15 measly euros at a pizzeria (and says they spent little) with joy and jubilation, but very few, and even fewer over time, would spend the same 15 measly euros to buy a new CD. As Aldo Biscardi would say: questo è il bunto!

I strangely find myself in total (but really total) agreement with psychopompe. Strangely because our tastes often diverge quite a bit. Anyway, I bought the album in Corso Italia (the main street) in Pisa for 14.90 Euros (not 20 euros) just a few weeks ago.
Faultline Your Love Means Everything

I've been thinking about buying this album for a long time. Reading your review reinforces my belief that it's right up my alley, even though your rating dampens the enthusiasm. But did this album come out with two different covers? I knew it with that sort of wrench on the cover.
This Mortal Coil Blood

I had this work in a cassette, but I must have lost it or archived it who knows where, even though I don’t have particularly exciting memories of it. It'll End In Tears, on the other hand, I cherish on vinyl, if only for the superb cover of Song To The Siren with a truly siren-like Elizabeth Frazer.
PJ Harvey Is This Desire?

Great first review. I haven't listened to the album in question, but it seems it's definitely time to make up for that.
Lenny Kravitz It Is Time For A Love Revolution
Voto:
I truly feel sorry for Lenny, because at least in the beginning he seemed like a real and credible character. Objectively, he now seems like a parody of himself. Let Love Rule, for me, is still a beautiful album.
The Clash London Calling
Voto:
Poor Strummer, reading these comments he must be turning in his grave. Mick Jones seems to be gearing up to make a comeback with his B.A.D.. Personally, I prefer to remember him as he was, both in the Clash and in the vintage B.A.D. The song London Calling resonates through the walls even after thirty years and can carry entire careers. The album is a must.

I don't know if anyone has pointed it out yet, but the cover is practically identical to the La's album from 1990. Only there it was monochromatic and here it’s in color. Anyway, three stars I don't think equate to an 8+.
Alberto Fortis Tra Demonio E Santità

Well done, iside. I only have a collection by Alberto Fortis, which I appreciate, by the way. However, I think that little or nothing is taken from this album.
