Oh my God, mixing the Bee Gees with the Beatles and the Beach Boys sounds a bit sacrilegious to me. Let's wait for Psychopompe's judgment.

It's a nice album even though a couple of tracks aren't exactly memorable, "Hey Me Hey Mama" and "Meg White," who will hardly have her heart broken by this dedication despite the alluring Morricone-esque beginning. Moreover, the acoustic "Winter Birds" (over six minutes) ends up feeling a bit static in the long run. For the rest, beautiful and poignant ballads steeped in dust and sweat, played at three in the morning with a bottle of Southern Comfort in hand and a raspy voice that can scrape the heart.

@Fosca: the first album by Franz Ferdinand in 2004 created quite a stir, but personally I found it nice and nothing more, so much so that I completely ignored the next one, "You Could Have It So Much Better." These days, their third album, "Tonight," is coming out, and I read great things about it everywhere: I’ll try to reconnect with them. Theoretically, both the FF (by the way, Scottish, a land I adore) and the Foals should appeal to me, but in reality, they don’t really manage to move me that much.
If you like the Foals as much as I've read, you won’t have any trouble with the FF. They sound very similar, and on top of that, the FF enjoy much more credibility. Guaranteed! Bye.
Claudio Lolli Ho visto anche degli zingari felici

Luca Carboni has just released a CD of covers only. It also includes "Ho visto anche degli zingari felici" (I'm not quite sure if it's sung in duet with Riccardo Sinigallia). I've already caught it a couple of times on the side. Could it be that Claudio Lolli gains a bit of visibility in old age?

@PSYCHO "Writing about music is like dancing about architecture." But I don't really share much of these aphorisms by Zappa.

I've been listening to them these days. To me, they seem quite similar to Franz Ferdinand, about whom there's a lot of praise for the upcoming album. However, I'm not excited about either of them.

The more I listen to it, the more I like it. Even the six tracks of the EP are beautiful. Album of the year on par with Fleet Foxes. And since they pointed out to me the impossible Scottish pronunciation of the singer, which hasn't been heard since the Proclaimers (great Paso), I like it even more. Fuuuck you, Fuuuck you, it's ooooveeer...

It’s the only album I have by Mark Isham. I bought it when I was in love with David Sylvian. I haven’t listened to it in ages, but I remember it fondly.
It's a Musical The Music Makes Me Sick

A Swede and a German making good pop raises some doubts for me. Anyway, I’ll give them a listen. It’s always good to mention some reference groups and/or solo artists; otherwise, as you say at the beginning, pop goes from the Beatles to Britney Spears: it means everything and means nothing. Pop in a broad sense will encompass at least 50% of all musical genres. Even comedy ranges from Charlie Chaplin to Christian De Sica.
