One of their greatest merits was being among the first to understand where music was headed and to let the world know. Trying to establish exactly how and how much they innovated or influenced is bullshit; it's like your word against hers, and you would never come to a conclusion. The emotional and affective aspect of music would come into play, which I have deliberately left aside given the topic of the review. In the others, I let myself go; I'm fucking biased.
