It's undeniable that kraut rock has some undeniable connections to this album. Just as it's undeniable that for more than a decade, Roxy Music, led by "Mr. Commercial Opportunism," fundamentally produced low-quality music (with the few redeeming peaks being solely due to Brian Eno, so much so that the good Brian would soon decide to part ways...) while miserably imitating certain Fiat-like melodic lines of the Crimson King. As for the fact that everyone is free to have their own tastes, I only partially agree because, sure, everyone is free to listen to whatever they like, but at this rate, we end up reevaluating even Mino Reitano or some ill-timed neomelodico. Returning to Roxy Music, they are merely the progenitors of a large part of the music of the '80s (which certainly isn’t all to be discarded) that suffers from a particular flaw compared to that of the previous decade: the average level is much lower and less refined. Then if someone wants to defend the '80s just because they listened to Madonna as a kid... (and let’s be clear, when I talk about '80s music to discard, I’m not referring to Japan, Sonic Youth, or bands like that, it's just that while in the '70s ELP could reach the top of the charts, ten years later it would rather be Francesco Salvi or Ricchi e Poveri doing so...)
