Do you know Tinariwen? You might like them, even though they would Inshallah never say so, even if they were dead. I'm looking for them, though, even if that "memorable dance hit" makes me fear the worst, considering the era.

Hey Porty, first listen to Neon Golden, that's where you'll find Consequence.. and it's also easier to listen to, better as a starting point.

One day I like it; I find it profound, well-crafted, fascinating... another day it gives me a sense of stasis, of incredible uselessness, and I can't stand it. I still agree that it grows with the listens and that Gravity is the top. Great review...

It’s not my habit to review albums without listening to them, but I can make an exception for Jovanotti: UNO. Why? Because Jovanotti is the example, the paradigm, the apotheosis of the Italian fence-sitter: incapable of taking a stand, musically, morally, politically, intellectually. He’s someone who tells you that maybe Berlusconi isn’t quite as clean as he appears, but deep down he’s a good man (after all, he’s sold records for him for a lifetime), that TV is harmful, but watching it isn’t that bad after all, that soft drugs probably aren’t as harmful as they say, but he’s never smoked a joint, that the Church isn’t all roses and sunshine, but the Pope is a wise and intelligent person. In short, he wants to please everyone so he has a better chance of selling records, because after all, the only thing he believes in is the God of Money. False and useless like few others.
