well, the first one was crap, but for the reasons Pi mentioned. That's what intrigued me. stop... rough review, but charming.

Well, now I'm straying a bit, but one of my interests has always been to delve into the Carthaginian perspective during the Punic Wars (maybe it's because I don't really like the Romans, unlike the Greeks, so I've never focused on the Persians: I’ve always considered them the bad guys). Anyway, yes, it would really be interesting.

@Psycho: my response was precisely for that reason, maybe he wasn’t a pederast (by the way, homosexuality is a practice more Greek than in other civilizations) but he was definitely a fanatic. As for the texts, I wouldn’t really know what to tell you; I also only know the Greek/western versions of the events. And I’ve never heard of Persian, Iranian, or Sasanian historians being mentioned.

The Persian Empire has always related to the Greek world, considering it the highest regard in many disciplines. That Xerxes was a bit of a show-off is well known (okay, not in those exact words, but it’s studied in school too), maybe he wasn’t that pseudo-gay guy from the movie... but he truly believed he was divine and it wasn’t even worth comparing to a single nail of his majestic father, with whom he had a conflicted relationship, and he was always compared to him even though he couldn't equal him for even a moment.
